I personally would love to see a boycott of Walmart cheers from now on in ISD. When someone says "give me a W" say nothing. And be HONEST with AES. I do, and it's quite fun being "that guy" that skews the scores by being honest. I appreciate my job, but spare me the propaganda. Walmart is no longer any different from any other big company, so they should quit pretending they are.

I agree, the cheer should be eliminated.
"Our People Make the Difference" Um..... It's been a rough 3 years for the Home Office folks and others I'm sure. The Divisional Leaders aren't questioning company direction any longer when it comes to People. Everyone has their heads down waiting for the next shoe to drop. This Company is being run through fear instead of fearlessness. This environment is causing lack of productivity, lack of ingenuity, lack of ownership and has destroyed the folks that were true risk takers. These risk takers pushed WMT to be the company Mr. Sam envisioned. In the past people worked at WMT for many reason, it wasn't the pay or a fancy work environment etc. It was respect, dignity, integrity and family friendly environment. All of that is gone, so why are people staying? I don't have the answer to that but it will be interesting to see.
K-Mart did something similar back in the 90's and look at where they are today. Soon, Walmart will become nothing more than a REIT.
Cant believe associates say "give me a W" for a lifetime and for Walmart to turnaround and ruthlessly cut them off payroll and replace them with cheap indentured H1B labor ..don't blame Walmart .. they are in it to make money .. blame Washington ..
This company is going straight to the bottom in a race with archaic mentality and work attitude but commending itself relentlessly every time on the stage!
The Harvest was the name of the reorganization ISD did in 2009. We had individual self-contained teams up until then.
The Harvest created 3 pillars (teams), one for development, support/operations and customer facing. It took everything from the individual teams and threw it into 3 gigantic piles.
It created nothing but chaos, animosity and a 'not my job' mentality.
What is the Harvest?
Wouldnt it be great if everyone frused to cheer and stood in silent solidarity
I've always been honest with AES. Except for maybe my first one after I drank the Kool-Aid. I was still in awe that the largest retail company would hire me. After about a year the reality of ISD really sank in. One big Chinese fire drill. Driving from one ditch to the other. I've seen riots better organized.
Then we did the Harvest. That was when I realized that leadership was clueless. This is when morale pretty much hit rock bottom. Until now.
My managers have always been decent. There was one that only cared about the 'mission.' They did not care about personal problems. Had that military mentality.
It was always the upper management I never had faith in. They seemed to run with the philosophy of ready, fire, aim with the consequences be damned. Changing just for the sake of changing.
And now? Morale is lower than when we did the Harvest. I still hold a grudge that leadership has never fully apologized for the Harvest. They never admitted they made a mistake with that fiasco. I expect those still around in the next year will seriously look at there careers at WM and start to leave in droves because they don't feel secure in this jobs. I, for one, would rather get paid less for that feeling that my job is safe without that constant fear and anxiety that today may be my last day.
