ISPd last year. The service is helpful for resume writing, the occasional seminar, and definitely a pep talk as they are optimistic chearleaders for you and your mood. Plus to get unemployment you need to shoiw you are looking for a job, so their activities can count for this. They will help you with mock interview, good to bounce ideas off of. As someone said, they aren't head hunters, but my counselor did work as one and hence was helpful to understand what the other side is looking for.

But don't expect much in the way of job listings or finding a job for you. That's on you. Network, be proactive, know what you want, tell a story....

Hopefully nobody thinks of this as a headhunting service. They are there to provide seminars and advice for your next steps forward in your job search. Not sure why they are so fussy about the format of resumes, but they think their way is best. There is no data to substantiate this, only their opinion.

It is worth trying it. You register first then they determine your eligibility. If you are ERP register on their site. If you are not eligible they will tell you. I got a counselor assigned to me. They offered to review my resume with lots of good comments. Then they initiated a 1:1 on the phone (or could be in-person). They regularly send job postings for my area. They have classes and seminars if one is interested. Try it and if you don't like what they offer, ignore it.

LHH, it is free and Intel gets the bill, do it. Lots of what their counsellors tell you is common sense but good to help avoid stupid things with resume, LinkedIn and interview prep. Some of the homework is also worth brushing up on!
