According to Conan the barbarian

Love your family, never job .job is a place of mutual need where either party can say good bye . You get paid when you are required and you work there when required . If you see this through, you will not feel bad. The news of 25% cut in metro was in the air forever , you didn't act on it or hoped you won't be impacted , fair enough, you are in strong market and will get job with better pay than those who are left , good luck

Forced volunteering and forced cash donations just so they can put out a press release to the general public and say look how good we are. So concerned with public imagine but the public should know what really goes on. They will call you and make you donate money, it’s amazing how that can even be allowed. HR is so clueless they posted an article yesterday about employees coming back to the company after leaving and then dirty deleted it when layoffs hit. Let’s see how big bonus Gorman gets this year.

The main value of any Wall St company is to make as much money as possible. And it has always been the case. Do a search for "Morgan Stanley layoff", and you will see that they cut many, many times in the past 15 years.

Morgan Stanley are hypocrites with the entire 'Core Value' thing. They are so concerned with their public image when it comes to charities, etc.., so they try to project a good image to the public as a firm. At the same time, internally they have no regard anymore for their hard-working employees, who sacrifice their personal work/life balance 24/7/365.
MS now rewards hard working , dedicated employees with layoffs. Shame on this once regal company who everyone out there once yearned to work for .
