At approximately 5:00 EST assorted local news stations started reporting that a location in their area was closing. This was timed by the company to be after the market closed. Google Macy’s Nittany (PA) or Macy’s Northgate (Cinci OH) as examples.
If you didn't hear about it at the morning meeting, you are likely not on the list.
Just announced today that in the northwest district, DT Seattle, Walla Walla, Lewiston and Burlington will be closing at the end of March.
These are always done after the NYSE closes at 4:00 EST.
