I got RIFed in 2015. Found a job with better pay better place. I am thoroughly enjoying seeing Cummins crumble. :)

Many engineers don’t even know what they’re supposed to do. Columbus, Indiana is going down.

This means that they are going to have another cut in labor aka called an extension of the cuts to more engineers and managers and possibly dept. with hourly. Ask yourself that the biggest trucking firm that is located in Southern Indiana went bankrupt wasn't due to the practices of the ex 2 company officers but it had to do with them trying to make it look like the company (Celadon) was more profitable than it was. Business is going into a recession spiral and I can't see how a diesel company like Cummins can keep up with truck engines and also other ancillary businesses associate with diesel engines.

Leave Cummins voluntarily while you can. Finding a good opportuniy becomes harder once you are laid off.

Every engineer in my department is frantically searching for jobs outside Cummins. The RIF will hit us at anytime between now and March. Every day at the workplace feels like the last day of work.

I'm located in Southern Indiana. I fully expect the RIF to effect both my staff and myself any day now. Morale is as low as it can get. Most employees who can are urgently searching for opportunities outside Cummins. Fortunately the economy is pretty good. Very disappointed and disillusioned in Cummins...they talk a good game but, in actuality are just a "slash and burn" employer. Very sad.
