Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

It is a cruel world out there for anyone really that is over 30

Have you tried to find a job when you are over 40? Age discrimination is rampant. Had to apply numerous times before I even got an interview at Lowe's. Even park services would not talk to me because I was over qualified. It is a cruel world out there for anyone really that is over 30. It is the people with age that are more loyal and have a strong work ethic but they are not appreciated. It is easy for millenials to make nasty comments but you have not lived life or experienced negative reality of the world we live in.

This is sad but very true. OP is @X9dSOoW-1tze

Nope haven't experienced negative reality of life, or the world that has been destroyed by all the wise experienced baby boomers that left us a global disaster to fix. #thanks bro.

its really one of the few reasons i stay....i am in my 50's so opportunities, or at least good opportunities are tough for my age group. Let's be honest....almost nobody likes retail. Nobody sets their life goal to work at a retail job, you get s---ed into the vacuum . Not saying its the worst job ever but its not a dream job for sure. That said i plan to milk this for everything its worth!. With nineteen paid days off plus paid sick time ...well lets just say that to start over would be tough. Certainly nobody would take a pay cut after years of developing your skills so the obvious move is to milk it if you're 50+ . A younger person would be wise to move on to a real company and real job.
