Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

H1B and Indians

Question: Without H1Bs or Indians, will Intel be where it is today? An Amazing company? If the answer is irrespective of H1Bs, Intel will be here today. If this is true, then deport all H1Bs.

Has any study or data been amassed as to the layoff projections on H1B employees, the lowering of general wage rates being lowered and its effect on the "new" H1B employees hired in spite of the layoffs and like related matters.

Another note is that either Trump or Hillary will not have any impact on H1B hiring.....Trump does hire these workers without fully complying with the law according to his Florida actions. Most or the H1B regulations needs to be addressed in the congress and cleaned up in both the tech and medical fields.

Okay let's assume we get rid of all h1bs. Then how is it going to help exactly to let you have you lifestyle?

We sell products in other countries and it is value addition that has given us our luxurious life style compared to 3rd world countries. The 3rd world countries (people) lived poor and provided products for our daily use in exchange. USA and other western countries pushed for globalization so that they can maximize their profits- which most previous generation folks enjoyed. Now the so called 3rd world countries are beginning to produce value added products as a result of globalization. They are getting competitive and eating away our market share. Implies, that our lifestyle can't be as luxurious going forward, as not many are available to bear our palanquin. If US stops h1bs ( I.e closed job market) , the other countries will ban our products or lay heavy duties ( back to closed markets). They can live without our products, for they are used to living poor or will find alternatives sooner or later. Then we will start losing Jobs anyway. So the possible solution is that ban h1bs and Chinese goods but still be able to keep the markets in other countries. Only by extreme innovation and reasonable pricing will this be possible. Or colonize all those countries to keep the market open just like the Brits when they forced their good on other countries during industrial revolution. I don't think option 2 is possible. So we got to stick with option 1 which is tricky since the third world also realized that they have to produce better products that are cheap. How can we produce cheap products? By having lower wages-essentially downsizing our life style. Are you ready for it?

Democrat Suzanne Bonamici of the 1st Congressional District of Oregon which includes INTEL in her district fully supports H1B's and in the import of foreign high tech workers.

The Indians are looking tough this year. Expect them to capture the American League Central and their odds of winning the AL Championship at about 30% and the World Series at 12%.

Clinton will not only allow H1B flood, she'll allow full open borders like Angela Merkel has been pushing in Europe the last few years. This along, with Hillary's push to remove the 2nd amendment and other Constitutional rights and a push for growing Corporatocracy/Fascism will cause the USA in 4 yrs under her to look like Europe is today. A DISASTER! If you are not part of the political or corporate elite class, expect your wages to be under pressure, your standard of living eroded, you rights marginalized, and your wives and daughters to have a higher likelihood of being sexually assaulted via a migrant (if you think I'm kidding, research what has been happening in Europe) while the cops and officials look the other way (following orders from above) or blame the victims!

H1B is definitely a big problem for this country especially for people who were leading a normal life style doing average tech jobs in the IT industry, I don't it is that big a problem in Intel... The system definitely needs ot be changed in favor of Americans but if Clinton comes in; goodbye American worker and say hello to H1B flood!!!

I don't know about Intel. But there wouldn't be America if not for the Indians. Remember Columbus went out seeking India and stumbled upon this continent in the Western Hemisphere.

The #H1B issue is not to be ignored. I think that it had a minimal impact on Intel's problems, nonetheless, the program that started ~10 years ago has been accelerating recently and is changing the landscape of the technology industry... The change comes from multiple angles and racial / cultural is only one aspect here, certainly less important than the impact on wages and job availability it results in.

Someone noted this, I believe it pretty much sums up the problem:

Intel like many other US companies is a h1b sweatshop. It exploits the foreigners by creating a labor force of indentured servants without a voice and It exploits the citizens by driving wages down.

Let's please look at the real root-cause! The CEO and his buddies are the problem. No one is scrutinizing the performance of the CEO and buddies. Why has Intel fallen into this mess? Why is Intel laying off and hiring H1-B for lower rates and promoting himself and his buddies? You guys are blaming H1-B employees for what the CEO and buddies are doing.

Intel is not an amazing company. You know why ?? Because of the CEO. If Paul Otellini had made a few scarifies then all Apple designs would be fab'ed in Intel fabs now. Now BK is begging after Apple to give them a foothold into the mobile market which has started saturating now ...

Pretty arrogant stance. If you start deporting every single immigrant then very soon someone will dig into your history and find out that your grandparents were undocumented too !! Guess what you have no legal standing to fight ... get out and go where ?
