Requiring a specific nationality or group, isn't that discrimination?

We were told flat out that any hires had to be BACI (BAC India), or 18 month contractors from (India). Uh yeah, we are training our replacements.
You are training* (not trying) your replacement.
Yes this happened shortly before I was laid off. You are trying your lower salaried, much less experienced replacement. And even if their performance is sub standard, the wheels have already been in motion and you can either wait for your severence package, quickly apply for a different position, or quit. I'd recommend the severence of you are in a position to receive one.
Do what everyone else does. Slow the training by misdirection and shuffle the (procedures) training steps and do not give all the information. It always seems to work for all the managers during midyear reviews.
Check out Plano. A ton of Indians are at the site.
Give us more details - I can ping Sara Blackwell ESQ down in Sarasota, she specializes in cases like this (she went after Disney on that #H1B case where they brought in Indians to replace US workers in Orlando)
Almost like making you dig your own grave....
Very true. Way too many inexperienced people they are bringing on for less pay. And yes. You get to train them.
This is the kind of things Trump will address!
could be, or they are just bringing on extra capacity knowing that it will not be needed later in the year term. hopefully for you that is the case.
It isn't an end to your experience, but it is the beginning of the end of your experience at the bank! Get your resume ready and think about making plans. The layoff is quick and can take you by surprise! Your days are numbered once they have all the info they need to get by without you!
