Thread regarding IBM layoffs

IBM’s CEO concedes not all customers embrace Big Blue’s upcoming split

20% of customers are concerned about the spin-off. So this translates into how many of them taking their business elsewhere? Doesn't bode well for NewCo.

NewCo will be purged and put on the market and sold. No other explanation. IBM does not and never has done well with commodity businesses, which is what NewCo is today, a commodity.

@bun

You 100% correct.

IBM has put another nail into its coffin... Thumbs up IBM... as always!

This Newco spinoff has the potential to create a customer mutiny against doing business with the new IBM and IBM Cloud. It feels like IBM dumped them. It may become a bigger bonanza for the other Cloud providers than if IBM had stayed together.

Yeah, but GTS is a sinking ship. IBM can't move forward while holding on to the past (GTS led weight)..

20 % have concerns publicly voiced. The other 80 % have private concerns that they have not voiced.
This spinoff is going to be a bad scene for the current GTS customers. It is being done purely for selfish financial reasons for IBM. Newco is not set up to operate independent of IBM because Newco is for all intensive purposes the major part of the core and heart of IBM. Now the customers get to do business with a weakened business unit, Newco, and no warm and fuzzy of doing business with big IBM. That is not what they contracted for.
