I was told that I was grading too tough when I insisted that papers have good grammar, meaning periods and capital letters. I wasn't fired but I have been on the sh*t list ever since. They had no standards and this is what happens. They are circling the drain.

That $30M should be disperse, as a relief or restitution, for those former students that have suffered financially.

If it's the end of Heald as we know it, all Heald captains will be saluted, as a tribute, as their ships go down.

687....decling enrollment is due to no marketing. The last i heard is campuses have about 50 students enrolled with 0 marketing dollars.....thats pretty impressive....but i agree with you, a new owner taking on the liabilities is a slim chance. I wouldn't be suprised if the AG tried to shutdown the company

If Heald is going to close, I would think that Everest and Wyotech in California will close too. How could Heald be broke, but Everest and Wyotech still have money?

648 - Based on history, "pennies" would be an improvement. Read the details of the ECMC acquisition. CCI received zeor dollars. In the past, CCI has paid organizations to take over campuses, even before the bucketful of regulatory and legal issues. CCI literally cannot give away the CA campuses. This last fine is probably the nail in the coffin. Too many liabilities, declining enrollment/revenue, a dying industry. Beat the rush - observe a moment of silence now for a once - proud college. Vaya con Dios, Heald..........

670 - you don't work here. I have never passed someone for anything except what they earned as a grade. I would submit mout instructors are the same. I've worked here long enough to know this.

671- no one was fired for that. Pick another board to troll.

Instructors were fired if too many students failEd.

Many, if not most instructors passed all students irrespective of how the students did on assignments, tests, etc.

How can the instructors "do wrong" in the context of what's going on???

The only way someone buys Heald is if they sell it for pennies

The question now is, what's going to happen with that $30M.

No, 631. I can attest, the instructors (and especially the PDs) did a lot wrong, too. Sure, they were just trying to go along and save their skin, but they're far from innocent.

630, I know. They apparently can't admit new students anymore. It's done. Haha. Part of me wants to walk in and pretend to be a prospective student just to hear them say "we can't sign up any more students because we lied about job placement stats and falsified numbers and hugely distorted the ease of life after college and failed to tell new students that college credits don't transfer." today is a victory for the past and present victims of Heald!

That article must be wrong. Everyone knows this is all about Kamala Harris trying to get elected, and that Heald did nothing wrong. Only the parent company and other subsidiaries are guilty. Harris is being unfair. I'm sure they didn't mean the federal government, and they spelled the college wrong. It's spelled E-v-e-r-e-s-t.

As an employee of Heald, it's tough to swallow. Every time we turn around we get hit with another blow. Good thing I have a Business Degree and have already been getting offers to work elsewhere. I just feel bad for the students this will impact considering they won't be able to finish their programs. An added 30 mill to the bill is like a low blow to the cajones.

Those who are optomistic, make sure you're smart and prepare for the worst.

Those who already have one foot out the door, best of luck to you.

Those who falsified documents and made the lives of the employees who worked hard for the betterment of the students within ethical bounds, go F*** yourself.

Teachers, best of luck. You're the reason we're successful, not the uppermanagement/corporate pigs.
