UP managers still will lie and tell u PSR is the best thing ever the UP did... they don’t fix or inspect trains anymore so more derailments will be happening All managers should be fired for falsifying paperwork and disregard for safety
Good. Hope it keeps happening
The how matters is true. Also the why matters. Why are all of these safety issues happening? It’s simply because the railroads have sold out safety to make a quick profit for billionaires who are the majority stockholders. UP has never cared about safety except for the liability they incur. They have taken this a step further now with total disregard for their employees well-being. This is only the beginning of what’s going to happen. Maintenance can only be avoided for so long before the system collapse. It will cost much more in the future to bring everything back to standard than it would to maintain the equipment and track now. The reality is we have very short sided leadership and no vision for the future of the company.
So PSR isn’t providing a safer, stronger railroad?
Wide gauge caused a derailment in Beaumont on Monday. Its delayed trains for three freight railroads and Amtrak. The how matters!
Are the shareholders ok??
@oni M/W was short-handed and overstretched even before PSR was imposed upon UP employees. Managers and crews had responsibility for huge territories, with buckled track, bad crossings, failed caps, bridge strikes, and bridge fires all being routine. M/W was also heavily dependent on contractors to perform major work, especially in the southern region, where the unions were/are weakest.
No surprise that the situation is as bad as it is three years and counting since PSR was put in place. Stack COVID-19 on top of it and it’s a wonder that there aren’t more major incidents.
The aforementioned video was during today's Townhall.
With all the M/W cuts it's no wonder the derailments are piling up.
safety is # 1
Yes as soon as he’s done with his journal post that most of us don’t really care about. How about a journal post of how bad employees are treated at this company and how he’s going to repair the damage he’s caused.
Will Lance put on a new vest and stand in front of a locomotive for a new courage to care video? That’ll get us back on track.
Soon we’ll be known as the daily derailment road.
Somebody tell the conductor to get on his ATV and tell us how many cars derailed. Management would come but we don’t have a vehicle anymore.
It's starting to get hit.
Watch for broken rails especially on track in the inner rail. Put 35 cars on the ground today with a foot long rail brake on the head of the rail.
I think this is a company record for the UP! They have more trains on the ground than people.
Another PSR special. Wonder if the train even had a valid air test or inspection
Lordsburg Sub...
I know. I fell off the tracks. Sorry hopefully I get on the wagon this time.
