an old man came for job interview...and HR guy said:"you know, we need younger people, creative, ambitious and able to grow, sorry, we cant hire you".

old man says:"ok, please get my number, and when you'll see that all your young guys are creative and growing, but there is no one to work- call me"

There is rampant fantasy that the young wipersnappers are the key.

To heck with anyone who actually knows how to complete tasks accurately.

Ever meet a youngin around there...."I just got out of College...I am smart".

I never have seen such low level of intelligence of recent Grads...Not all of course but most.

Amazing and common pursuit these days to hire numb nuts kids who just graduated.

Get rid of the old hands that have proven records.

FYI...Recently me an Ex con hired somehow....First thing he told me when I introduced myself....I just got out of prison. Wow, there is a new type Education I wasn't familiar with. He thinks he is real smart as well. Sent him off with some drawings for modification to products and next day he came back and said, I do not understand why we have to do things like this quoting the modification package.

I asked him, Don't they do it this way in Prison? Get with the real world Engineering and common practices.

New hires wishfully thinking they are building a career should be warned that if they are lucky enough to be around when they reach 45 then from there on they are marked for an early exit unless there is a good reason otherwise. Being a manager seems to be good enough reason though, so learn to deny your technical background and get used to climbing the management greasy pole. Anyway, if WTI stays below 40 until 2017 then SLB may just capsize with its top heavy management. At the end of 2014 the budgets were set on a $60 price, now if they set it at $40 they would be wrong again and further amputations will be needed.

Not to mention gender discrimination. How many females have been laid off? Proportional to population? Not in my team, that's for sure.

Time for EEOC to do their thing.

I signed a waiver to get my 6 weeks severance (so I wouldn't sue for age discrimination). Kinda wish I wouldn't have done that now.

Yes, and all that experience goes with them. All that is left is a bunch of wannabe yes-men who know nothing about the job. Very, very stupid on the part of the company.

#agediscrimination is fairly rampant in corporate America! If you did not know, they are legal companies who specialize in class action suits focusing on age discrimination.
