Digital ASM not worth coach pay structure?

Why does the company say that digital is the future of the company yet they don't value the digital team. ASM still not converted to coach and what business grows faster than the store. Highest volume in my region, with more associates than the front end and I'm paid the same as a store down the road doing a quarter of the business we do. The pay structure should be evaluated for the volume and demographic for each store. I can work in a $120m store and have the same amount of management and paid the same as a $75m store 15 min away.

Same boat as Fresh/Food Coach. Looking elsewhere! The workload is way too much and I find myself a stressful mess every day at home. Not worth the tiny bump in pay to cover what was previously 3 asms positions with half the leads we had before.

It isn’t worth being a coach unless you get stocking or front end. I am Food/fresh and consumables. It’s a ridiculous work load and no one wants to help with the massive amount of mods/price changes etc. I have two food associates and they are ran to death and my team leads are running all areas wherever needed. If stocking teams don’t finish work which is more often than not ...we are expected to finish and do everything else. Opd is definitely growing and I clash with the Asm there because she complains about everything. I stay to try and get section work, price changes etc done . I am working 14 hour days and have blisters on my feet to prove it. At the end of the day it isn’t either of our fault. Walmart should have done more planning when it came to this structure vs using millions of people as Guinea pigs. I am extremely disappointed with the company’s decisions at this point. After almost 15 years I am looking elsewhere for employment.

Should have coach pay

It definitely sends a confusing message. I’m having to work a sixth day and spend the extra day working on the sales floor filling in the gaps where the Coaches are failing. Ultimately I guess it was my fault because I was the first one in my store offered a Coach role, but I chose to remain in Digital because that’s where my passion is at. And if my primary focus was running my area and only working extra time/days when my area required it then I would be okay with that, but to work extra, at asm pay, because the Coaches are struggling is a slap in the face in the grand scheme of things.

I'd say with the fulfillment centers they are adding to some stores is why they haven't done a coach because the robots will cut a lot of jobs out.

Let's be honest. Besides the potential bonus. The coach pay structure isn't that great for the increased responsibility. Specialty asms got 4% just to stay in role. The "Co" got a 10g base bump and much higher bonus structure to do the same thing they were before. Most coaches have the area of 2 or 3 asms. (excluding O/N, frontend, stocking)

I know exactly how you feel. I am a Digital ASM and I love my store, team and my job as a whole but I also am expected to run other areas of the store when the coach is not in with a total store mentality. All for ASM pay and bonus. All of this is the reason why this is my last week as a digital ASM and I start as a Coach on Monday.
