This situation with Qualcomm is depressing, but the direction will be known soon. If Broadcom succeeds there will be some large layoffs in 2018. We are a little like children caught in a custody battle...for which parent are we cheering? Maybe we start hating them both? It's sad that such a great company has been reduced to this. If you can't make it a year on savings I would consider other cities. Try to stay positive about your own life, even if it is impossible to feel good about Qualcomm. This will work out in the end.

vote white. best chance for employees, even those who think they won't be affected in merger. Company employees who get taken over always lose no matter how skilled you are. Broadcom has buddy system just like QCOM. Don't be fooled.
Doesn‘t matter to me if he succeeds or not. The Q board has also shown now that they have zero loyalty for us employees.

Omg you need to pull yourself together. I’ve already been told I am likely to be laid off so I am looking for a new job. Life is constantly changing. Get over it. If you are incapable of changing then you are doomed regardless of who or where you are. Embrace change! Seek new opportunity and you will find it.
