Since I am new to Whole Foods, I have been trying to understand the thinking that runs this place. I have heard a couple of catch phrases, "assume positive intent" and "incremental progress" Both ideas seem to lead to reactive management. Anyway, what are your favorite catch phrases?

Let the negative elements fall away/ weed themselves out.
"opportunity" -You f-cked up. LOL!
"impactful"
"sense of urgency"
"bad attitude" -Vague, passive aggressive criticism is the WFM trademark.
"guests"
It's all corporate newspeak. #wholefoodsmarket
"reach out"
"dog and pony show"
"going forward"
"fluid"
"fluff it"
"get behind it"
"piggyback"
Yes....who cares about their silly phrases.....move on and LIVE A TRUTHFUL AUTHENITIC LIFE....sadly WFM is not all that. GOD BLESS
Yes, find happiness somewhere ELSE
thank god I did
"He/She can go and find happiness somewhere"
The work-around for that is...
"Urgency!"
"Don't forget to engage our guests and smile!"
"URGENCY!!"
"SMILE FOR OUR GUESTS!!"
Guests. I don't make guests pay for anything when they visit me, do you? It's all well and good to treat certain situations with urgency, but when you're having a pleasant conversation with a customer and hear this being screamed behind you -- and the customer clearly hears it too -- it kills the pleasant vibe and makes things weird.
Once, I was talking to a customer, smiling, being helpful and friendly, and a TL was right behind me, screaming "DON'T FORGET TO SMILE AT OUR GUESTS!" My eyes met with the customer's at that moment and it was clear she was not impressed with the TL screaming painfully obvious commands at us while we tried to do our work.
This TL's sense of "urgency" is actively driving away our guests.
One Store One Team.
'Let's circle back'
'Going forward'
'Piggybacking on that'
'Let's put it in the parking lot'
'We need to be fluid'
'Low-hanging fruit'
'RockStar'
'Big-opportunity stores' (sounds pleasant, but means you SUCK)
Question a policy that doesn't make sense, or a TL on an ego trip? You have a 'bad attitude'
These are all good.
I like "proactive".
"Be grateful you have a job "
"You are all replaceable "
"This is "my" store "
We must be positive.
Going forward
We need to get behind this
Tell the story
Stack it high and watch it fly
It needs to be impactful
It needs seasonality
sense of urgency
"Take ownership"(of what?mackey's farm) and "you rock" or "rockstar"
Maintain Organic Integrity
Get back to work!
