Well, just about everyone should know their status by now, either directly or a gut feeling. What did you think as you are leaving for good or watching others leave? After staring blankly into your owrn thoughts wondering how it has all gonè so terribly wrong, getting yelled at by your spouse, looking at your kids, worrying about your finances, getting drunk, chain smoking, firing up a doobie, then post your thoughts here. That is, after your have cleared out your head from the anger, bitterness and betrayal you might feel. Will the Chevron Way, OE and tenants of operation help you in your job search to a new path in your life?

Hey @1hzn. Believe what you like. Halliburton hired me in June 2015. One of few hired last year. Experience and good talent is always being sought, even in the toughest times.
1wva - You are not fooling anyone. Halliburton is not hiring and has not been for two years. You must be a Chevron PGPA suck up. Your kind has ruined the reputation of Chevron workers. After the dust settles, you will eventually be led out the door by security. Not this round. But another is coming.
Speak for your worthless self, @mnj. I got hired on at Halliburton 3 weeks after leaving Chevron. They started me at 12% more pay than I last earned at Chevron after 9 years of experience.
If your ex Chevron no other O&Gary company will want you. They have hired us turds. They know our skill set is worthless.

Total rubbish, @aha. Having been an employee of Chevron adds to your reputation and as an asset to a prospective employer. It's silly to think serous employers monitor this Layoff site and make sweeping assumptions. Present your CV and qualifications to a serious employer. Your Chevron experience will give you an advantage over other candidates posting for the same job.

I've met many companies who won't touch a Chevron employee with a barge pole given the stupid way of going on that is ingrained in them. Attacking people over hand rails, backing in, walking on the right etc They don't want that kind of petulant filth anywhere near their dynamic, practical, adult company.
Stop work authority in action. Hundreds will have their work stopped tomorrow.

There will be plenty of replies tomorrow. It will take all day to finish this round of 'improving efficiencies'. Chevron still has many more thousands to cut to meet the goal of 6000 employee reduction this year.
I found out today that I am still deadwood rotting on the tree and waiting to see if they will cut me into kindling.
Have not heard anything. Currently on home rotation, and was told that I would get a call from the Ops manager either way. I am expecting that call in the morning.
Have some people been told already? If so, how did you find out? I do not have access to email at home, and I really do not want to drive to a Chevron facility for no reason.
