If the entire US Business plan is basically waiting for Group employees to buy your products in their annual benefits picking, apart from Auto & Home, then I'm not sure why they need to market at the individual level at all. And the other book of dead business Life and Annuities hasn't marketed in nearly a decade. in fact I'd wonder if the Annuities are still charging 12b-1 fees for marketing expenses because that would be illegal now.
Yeah another "nice to have" area that doesn't do much. I laugh now when a certain Marketing group tried to push their responsibilities onto me and I am not at all in a Marketing role.
There is no real need for marketing if the only strategy is to cut costs.
