Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Biden Vaccine Timelines

It looks like mandates take effect January 4, 2022. It will be interesting to see how many people walk their talk and how many fold because they were just posting on here to further politicize certain issues in the pandemic. I think some people are going to be walking back a few statements.

So you have one person presenting a logical valid, fact-based scientific argument against vaccine mandates, then you have several posts from the opposing team presenting, uhh, Um, well, they are presenting something all right. Let's just leave it at that, lmao!

Wrong @bewm. Covid is now endemic, just like the common flu. There’s no mandatory flu shot mandate and nor will there be one for Covid. It’s just as pervasive as influenza and we will live with it forever. Those who believe their immune system is weak can go get their annual jab and those who are strong will work through it as always. Like all such viruses, we acquire some sort of herd immunity as our own bodies develop natural defenses to them. So quit with the mantra of calling for vaccine mandates. It won’t happen in this country because there are still a majority of us who use our logic and defend our rights.

The best advice is to never—ever—engage with trolls. Keep silent. Say nothing. Trolls want people to respond to them; that’s how they get their jollies. They crave confirmation that they have caused distress to someone.

Natural antibodies are not part of the discussion because the mandate is not about protecting lives. It is about seizing power that can be exercised in the future.

Texas Tribune reported the other day that Texas data shows that unvaccinated Texans make up vast majority of COVID-19 cases and deaths this year. Hmmm….

Yes, that's true, and the highest percent vaccinated states are now having the greatest number of cases. Makes you wonder about the motive for the mostly ineffective vaccines and the pointless mandates.

@8atz, I infected three people in my family with Covid after I got it. We have all been fully vaccinated. Is that sort of what you were trying so cryptically to convey?

Across all industries they’re finding that only about 1% of the working population is willing to be dismissed rather than getting a completely safe, life saving vaccine. Mandates work, I’m looking forward to the new year. 👍🏻

@4mrj - We will just have to see what SCOTUS decides, but it seems to me that workplace vaccine mandates clearly fall under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. If they are unconstitutional, wouldn't that make almost all of OSHA unconstitutional as well?

The vaccine mandates may stop now that Governor Newscum has bells palsy from the booster. If enough high ranking politicians get sick, including the fake president, mandates may end.

Sounds brave to ‘walk the talk’ and quit over the vaccine mandate, but really now???

Go ahead and quit a cush plus $150-$250,000 job n find a tiny company making $70,000 n work 50 plus hours a week. Yep, i am sure the company will take note of your protest n i am sure they will have a teal tuff time replacing you (not).

Actually you are missing the point that when States fail to protect health and welfare as they are required to do by law then the Federal government will step in.

by

Post ID: @4awp+1dE7nGHK

@3lql, You are missing one huge point about vaccine mandates. It’s unconstitutional for a President to impose a vaccine mandate on a Federal level. The SCOTUS has made it known that health mandates can be imposed by the individual States only. So it seems the current injunction by a Federal Appeals Court will stand until the case can be heard in the higher court, and there’s another 16 injunctions coming up behind this one. Believe me, there will be no vaccine mandate across the land. This tyrannical government is beginning to come to a grinding halt. The people have had enough already, even Democrats are starting to question WTF is going on.

Supreme court justices have already opined that the vaccination issue should not be heard at the court level (Harlan). It's a State matter. What's more, state health agencies are mandated by law to protect the health and welfare of the public.

I work at a GOM covered facility and will be one of the first subject to our internal policy (FFD) on vax requirements. I will in fact walk the talk. No concessions here, so only about 25 days to go (Dec 1) before I my failure to comply is addressed by HR. Honestly its feels like welcomed relief, this entire saga of the functional transformation, covid, lockdowns, corporate edicts, governmental mandates and all the mental /emotional stress from situations external to me and antagonistic to my way of life is degrading my sense of wellbeing. Although I would have worked a few more years, I am fortunate to be able to leave with only relatively minor financial concerns. I'll probably just retire and live a more simple life than I had planned for but my peace of mind is worth it. Just really exhausted by all these external pressures and want to do my own thing with as little external influence as can be achieved. Good luck to everyone out there, I hope things work out for the better for all who must persevere.

Supreme Court already decided vaccine mandates are legal and don’t violate constitutional freedoms during a pandemic in 1905. Basically a person does not have a freedom to take away other peoples freedom (right to have good health).

In any case, It's good that those without the vaccine will not be subject to such totalitarian and non-science based political foolishness.

The 5th circuit already put out a stay on the new OSHA vaccine mandate:

"Because the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory
and constitutional issues with the Mandate, the Mandate is hereby STAYED pending further action by this court."
