As usual, our brilliant leadership decided to dangle the axe in front of us for several months, all the while “encouraging” us to keep on keeping on. But with 2 weeks still to go, I haven’t been able to sleep, focus, or find any real reason to even show up to work each day. Why bother? What’s the use? Why not just give everyone who’s likely to be cut a short term leave since there’s no real work coming out of any of my group? This is psychological warfare pure and simple. Completely sadistic.

Lots of managers at COP but very few real leaders. When the crisis hits, they save themselves, keep quiet and hide in the foxholes.
We all know management reads these boards, so I hope you all are taking note. Your employees are not happy, don’t trust you, recognize we’re being treated like garbage, and see through the company’s rank hypocrisy and total lack of empathy. Ball’s in your court.
The torture, agony and disappointment of working for this wretched company is only exceeded by those condemned to the inner depths of hell. Other than that, the benefits are competitive.
I empathize. It’s brutal. Definitely take care of yourself. Find a release valve: talk to a professional, exercise, journal your thoughts, get out for a walk in nature. Better yet, do all of these things. And know that the “worst” thing that can happen is you lose your job. I promise you it isn’t the end of the world. Not fun, but you will get through it and thrive again.
This time is worse than the previous rounds because in addition to the stress of possibly losing my job I am being forced to show up at the office during a global pandemic. The SPIRIT values seem to mean less and less all the time, but I don't EVER again want to hear about how they care about Safety or People when they make us all show up and risk spreading COVID. Not to mention covering up actual outbreaks! And our legal team has the stance "prove you got it at work" which is pretty much impossible.
The stress of the 2018 layoffs really got to me. I did call the EAP about 2 weeks before the cuts happened and did see a licensed professional counselor for about 6 months. She really did help me through the things I was working through, so I would definitely recommend it. I ended up being cut, and EAP benefits are part of the severance package too, so be sure to use it if you need it, now or later.
Take this for what it’s worth but please get the help you need or want, to deal with the stress and anxiety. There have been people who have sadly been driven to the brink and did the unthinkable.
None of the incompetent pretend manager clowns are worth it. Seek the outlet and help you feel is the right path.
There are a lot of eyes on the management at MRO as well as HR from our peers that they don’t know about. But let’s all that happen on its own. But please look out for yourself and your family. Wishing you the best

I would encourage the OP to go to their doctor and get a referral to a QUALIFIED professional to deal with stress related anxiety or depression issues. Never rely on EAP.
EAP providers are too close to the company and they’ll change the provider as soon as they can find a new one who mans the phony crisis line for $.50 less per hour. The only person who can look out for your best interest is YOU. Never trust the any company is doing so.
And make an appointment with your doctors immediately. Dr. Daniels and Dr. Beam.
Spend your time getting prepared in case it does happen. Make sure your resume is in good shape, download your contact list and minimize the amount of personal stuff you have at the office. Even if you don't get laid off, you will be well served to have your stuff organized and ready to go.
It sounds like you are very anxious and stressed and it is eating you alive. You might get some relief by reaching out EAP and talking it through with someone.
Work to rule. All the decisions have been made, you wont be saving your hide in the next couple weeks.
