Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Any insights about possible layoffs?

I try not to worry ahead of time, but the rumors about layoffs circulating still make me very anxious. Consequently, I can hardly manage to focus on my job, which I'm still trying to keep.
Does anyone have any insights about cuts, how far we are from cuts and how many people could be affected?

6 of us had a group layoff via a teams meeting today. Talk about cold and impersonal. Seems as they chose the ones with least seniority and that’s how they decided who to lay off. I had a feeling this may have been coming with the merger. The layoff is not effective immediately (for us anyway), and info about severance will come later. Sigh.

Just sit back and do the absolute bare minimum until UHG makes cuts to our organizations. Update your resume and job search profiles in the meantime. If that other layoff.com link pans out then we could see a reduction in early November too.

Over the years people have been good at leaking reorganizations, if and when they know something, which leads me to believe that everyone currently anticipates an event but nobody knows anything. Or those that know are too high up and the knowledge is so restricted that they can't leak it without being identified as the culprit.

We're under new management now, OptumInsight holds the deed, and our new parent company is clearly planning on a reorganization and reduction in force of middle management at the start of November. Go read this website's message board on Optum for more details. The parent company is paring down their leadership and I would assume that a reduction of the lower tiers will follow. It's possible that this event at the start of November might also include a reorganization of our leadership structure. Would they even warn anybody on our side if that was planned? The new parent company's fiscal year coincides with the calendar year, and November through December could be an ideal time for them to clean up the books before the next fiscal year.

Probably no sense in worrying about it. Managers will just suddenly receive a list of people to cut.
