The long awaited layoffs in downstream will take place the week of April 7 - 11. Focus will be on Calgary. 1 in 6 positions redundant on new organization chart. Some of those who remain will be asked either to move to various refineries or Columbus.

One observation is that the refineries could have less “managers” and more “team leads”. Actual working managers would go along way at the downstream sites for the supporting functions. I see many that are masking as effective but you could pull them out today and there would be zero negative impact.
The new charts look like all of the refinery supporting functions are gone and Calgary is allegedly going to support the sites. It looks like projects will have all support in Dublin/Calgary, and not at the site. The Calgary teams supporting has not worked for over a year. No other industry does this except the backwards oil and gas id--ts.
Ladies & Gentlemem. I would advise spending some time before Tuesday transferring personal information off your company drive & e-mail. Once you have been notified of your termination IT will freeze your account almost immediately.
I truly hope @b3+1jr3mttt6 is already a senior leader here because we need that type of thinking. The offerstaffing and duplicative positions is a leadership failing, plain and simple. And JM who blatantly lied to us all in his Q4 town hall when he said “we won’t live beyond our means” - I hold him personally responsible for this. He allowed it. DC straight encouraged it in downstream. They’re all just laughing their way to the bank. We’ve been clowned.
Wish they could hit ctrl+alt+del on the whole LHSE merger, all together. They are an OS business is the bottom line and why the investors invested with them at the inception of Cenovus. Otherwise it is just a slow and painful HSE future. Sure things grow and evolve, but that is meant for success and not for the failure path like this shop for the last few years. Let’s not forget that the 5 days in XXS cubes will make everything better and competitive somehow, yet the CEO has a literal bullet proof office for himself in the building.
This is the 2nd time in have heard reference to 15%. I’m starting to think that 15% cuts are coming.
Great work in Kananaskis boys. Increase your bonus.
If our company really wants to make an impact on long-term costs they should get rid of the people that overstaffed their teams over the past few years.
If you have more than say 30% cuts to your team the manager should go as well. Same for directors, vp’s etc..

Sorry what does doge mean?
Anyone thinking about doge as a selection process should go
It’s unclear whether it will be finished next week, but feels like it will be completed by the end of April. The new chart removes Calgary Downstream peeps.
Bout effin time. Should be 2.5 positions. There needs to be more DOGE.
I thought they had to apply…
