Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Typical Saturday at Lowe's

In appliances by myself. Tons of customers and then there's the issues caused by XPO. Also one guy wants to take a dryer with him and I'm the only one licensed in the store to use the order picker. Sc--w it. Left 3 customers who all left cause they didn't get any help. I don't give a fu-k anymore.

Running around like crazy then the id--t supervisor whines that cleaning and IMS need to be done. Told him I'm too busy doing his job of fixing issues he doesn't know how.

Plumbing is empty most of the afternoon as there's a ho-e from 1-3 in the schedule. No one scheduled in cabinets or flooring all day and the girl in home decor called out.

And they wonder why stores are down in $$$. Schedule more people as customers are leaving in droves. But the stupid bean counters in North Carolina don't care about customers let alone employees.

Left at 7 today. Came home, ate dinner and went right to my computer to update my resume and get it online. I'm getting out of this clusterfuck.

Customers come in all the time looking for stuf Walmart doesn't carry. i tell them to go across the stree to Lowes and they usually reply that they really don't want to go in there any more. sad what has happened to Lowes

The corporate and regional people that I see all over social media/Linkedn appear to me to be woefully out of touch and focused on things that have absolutely nothing to do with adding value to our core business. "Women's Leadership Summit" making cupcakes? Staged photo ops of some executives hammering a few nails at a customer's home?

We had 154 hours a week in appliances a year ago. 3 full timers, including 2 specialists. Plus 2 part timers.

Now we have 2 specialists and they cut the part timers to 5 hours a week each. One is quitting this week which leaves us with 85 hours.

And they wonder why we get behind on IMS, cleaning, top stocking and down stocking, etc. When do we do it? The department supervisor had to do it all yesterday and he's had to cover appliances 3 nights a week after 5 which ki--s our sales cause he really doesn't know appliances well.

I went without lunch breaks and regular breaks many times but no more. I left 3 customers in refrigerators the other day to take my meal break. If corporate doesn't care anymore, neither do I.

What's happening at the store level is a tragedy to say the least. I had three separate sets of customers waiting in the appliance department at 7:55 am when I walked in the door to start my shift. Didn't leave till 7:15 pm, never got a lunch and I NEVER take any 15 minute breaks. Didn't even have a chance to do my DSHR till after 11 am because of non-stop customers. I had no help till my closer came in at 3 pm. No one covering either flooring or kitchen cabinets after their respective openers left.

The staggering amount of money Lowe's is losing due to lack of staffing far, FAR, F-A-R exceeds the pittince they are saving on payroll. I am heartbroken to see the company that I devoted more than a decade of my life to going down in flames like this but it just isn't worth it any more. The job market is great right now and there is absolutely no reason to stay with any company that treats their employees (and customers) like this.

It’s a common theme. Been right there in the same scenario way too many times. This company is hemorrhaging inside the stores, and the corporate shills either don’t have a clue or don’t care. Guess what, neither do I anymore…

It’s the same everywhere. Tons of customers, no associates and we’re being told to cut hours.

The people at the top of this company have NO idea how much money they’re losing from people walking out in disgust because there’s no convenient report on it. It doesn’t show up in the numbers therefore it doesn’t exist or matter.

And to top all that, we’re being told to gut hours because the company isn’t making its numbers. It really is amazing how oblivious the people at the top are. This mess of a company is a house of cards just waiting for a stiff breeze of reality to knock it all down. And that stiff breeze will come when all the easy money from the stimulus checks end.

Enjoy your stock prices guys. You won’t have them for long.
