This round might be done but I'm betting you we'll be seeing more rounds sooner rather than later. This management has proven we can't trust them. I think many are going to use this as a much-needed push to walk away from this place for good. I know I've started looking already.

@3lee+1pi9LvX6 You’re so out of touch with reality. Have you seen the state of the current job market? If it was so easy to just find another job, no one would feel that bad about being laid off. The so called severance package they gave us was for 2-3 weeks worth of pay and that was based on our salary, so everyone’s severance package isn’t going to be the same amount. Why are you even on an anonymous forum about layoffs if you’re so happy still being employed at MS?
I agree with what most have said regarding those who didn’t get laid off. I’m sure it was a relief to some extent to not be randomly fired that Tuesday morning when everyone’s world was metaphorically rocked. However, after witnessing some truly talented individuals just get the boot over the person next to them who literally does the same exact thing, same position, same team in some cases, but were employed there less time so got paid .50¢ less & didn’t get laid off…. it seems like it’s only a matter of time. I personally would be walking on eggshells constantly fearing for the security of my position and livelihood. That type of mentality is not something I’d be able to see beyond. It’s a toxic place to be in emotionally and will lead to zero productivity. The loyalty that was once felt is gone. There’s no trust, and rightfully so! I hope, for everyone’s sake, that everyone is updating their resumes and keeping a watchful eye on potential leads for open opportunities. I have friends and other wonderful people still employed there who-like myself-would not be able to survive another mass layoff.
MedSol does not practice what they preach and now everyone has been made aware. This company has proven to be far from “human first” and would throw anyone/everyone under the bus, again.
Bottom line, don’t trust anyone. Not even the lead who claims to have your back. Not the supervisor, or any of the higher ups with their “open door” policies that they don’t hesitate to use against you. Head down, mind your peas and look for work elsewhere asap!
Has anyone found out if signing the severance document voids the ability to claim unemployment benefits?
What departments should expect additional layoffs?
There are some redundancies between the MedSol and C&A departments, and everyone believes that's where they'll trim the fat next, but the 5% number seems too high.
@3lee+1pi9LvX6, if you are so satisfied with your job and aren't concerned about layoffs at all, what brought you to these pages? I hope you didn't come here just to brag and gloat because it would mean you should take your own advice and focus on turning your negative attitude toward your coworkers into energy for making your own life less miserable.
Listen if you’re that unhappy with MS and are still employed there then leave. Not everyone that works there are miserable with their jobs. Take your negative attitude and put that energy in finding a new job. I get it layoffs su-k I have worked in the corporate world for a long time and have been through a layoff before and didn’t get a severance not a dime. If you think you could do better running a company? As we tell children you can be whatever you want in life. Best of luck on the job search.
Someone mentioned a rumor about the new round coming in November/December (5% reduction), anyone having more info about this?
The people who are left will end up being out of a job with out any severance as lawsuits come rolling into the company. Mine alone will be close to $20,000 in unpaid wages due to a active deterrent measures to not work overtime. I am not exaggerating either.
Medical Solutions absolutely fosters a hostile work environment. My documentation includes time stamps and hours, proof of falsifying documents and attempts to cover it up. Not just for me but enough of proof of others working off the clock to retain a lawyer in a blink of an eye.
The real kicker is the culture MS created is a Cult. I kid you not.
- Company: “Human First”… actively recruits really awesome people. Says you have paid time off whenever you want but not unlimited. Then takes it away because it wasn’t unlimited and people were abusing it…..
- Interviewer: “What is servant leadership to you?” … let’s just say could you be any more less human or racist? No human wants to be a servant and the “HUMANS” elsewhere are actively fighting for equality. There is a big difference in loyalty vs servant leadership.. one only requires you to follow because you have to….
- You work on small teams and not all teams even work with one another in the same department which effectively isolates you from anyone else.
- They tell you to keep a smile on your face and be part of the solution but don’t you dare bring to managers, directors, c suit any type of criticism even with a solution because you get told to shut the fk up and mind your mouth and just do what you are told. (Servant leadership)
Company: spends upwards of $10,000 on employees who won awards with the company… kicker they all had to wear the same attire as CEO and wardrobes were purchased so these common folk award winners can fit in with the real royalty. They were given spending money for the entire trip as well. I know other large corporations don’t even do this.
How about when someone gives you the information don’t go back 4 months later fire 400 employees and either double the work or triple the work load of those who are left. I remember “YOU” stating you investigated and have been able to determine there is no one working off the clock in the department let alone company. Meanwhile the company just lost a lawsuit for the exact thing I brought up while I was actively fighting with HR.
To all- you have 3 years to collect unpaid wages.
Let me put this in perspective. If only 30% of 500 employees were working $20 an hour wage but were actively discouraged from working overtime because of fear of retaliation and because you are isolated you don’t see if it’s just you until you go in and check time stamps of various peers and see people working at 10pm????
If 30% of the employees don’t record 5 hrs of overtime per pay period for one year - that is equal to
$30 OT rate x 5 = $150 x2 = $300 x $3,600 is for one employee per year
30% of employee for a year = $540,000 of unpaid wages. This is being conservative and I regularly saw 10+ hrs of OT worked. Again, 3 years to collect unpaid wages. It adds up really fast.
If each state was aware of the unpaid taxes this also cause is even further damage. States are then going to come knocking for the money they are owed. There is already one unpaid wages lawsuit so the precedent has already been sent. I have proof and video upon video evidence of how HR has handled all of this and how what I stated could happen. & they went out and made it happen so they could exploit their profits.
If you did not get laid off - run don’t walk to your next place or employment. If individuals go after unpaid wages Individually then the company is possibly facing multiple $10,000,000 lawsuits. I don’t think that will leave any money for anyone left to get paid.
