IT is a mess

Don't talk about Global IT. They removed hundreds of people without knowing what they were doing. Now to move something to production, I almost need a DNA test and the approval of the President! No accountability of those who approve either. The outsourced team who is supporting us has no clue. I had to tell one guy how to do his job! This is one reason why Im leaving. We have to go through hoops and loops to follow the new chaotic and inefficient processes. You get no special reward for doing so but get scolded if your performance decreases. SMH.

The person responsible for the 2017 SAP outage hasn't been at MDT for a while. SAP at MDT is a house of cards. One puff and it breaks.

Oh and the new CIO just added 3 new VP positions! And she has an ‘India first’ strategy.
MDT IT will be MDT India, next to all the outsourcing, of course!

IT has been sla-ghtered for years now. Less and less investment, lost of talents and knowledge, etc and MDT SLT and excom don’t understand why IT has so many problems. Seriously?!

No accountability for their mistakes and incompetence.

On top of it the new restructure plan is a complete mess. Anyway IT is merely a service provider. works on backoffice and hardly has any influence on key business MDT has.

What a massive scam pulled off by SL, he walked away with a golden parachute.
Facts:

  1. you can not call them outsourcing, there Global IT shared services providers.
  2. If they sc--w up, your job is to figure out what they did wrong. Or you get in trouble.
  3. Sure they will help resolve it with your help, after MDT pays more money for there help as none has access anymore.

Not to take away your experience with Medtronic IT. But, IT is a shitshow at every company. That's what happen when you outsource IT.
