Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Supply chain is toast

Get ready for massive issues locally and globally. The supply chain is deteriorating and the economic crash is at hand.

Wont matter how hard corporate pushes us because it wont matter.

Only a matter of time. Mark my words. Empty shelves and empty stores.

It's not 1929, but it's looking a lot more like 2008. And if you haven't noticed, for the working class we still haven't recovered from that twelve years later. But hey stay rosy and hodl it, it'll go back up right? Won't be any consolation when you need money here and now though.

Doom and gloom.
In economics there are highs and lows. Anyone reacting to this immediate issue especially with their 401k has no business having one.

This too shall pass and the economy will bounce right back.

OP had this spot on as it was posted way before the market crash. I wish I had his foresight, my 401k would have many more thousands available. Is he an evil genius? Don't know, but he predicted this mess better than Nostradamus predicted anything.

How can anyone say something like this while keeping a straight face when it betrays how this country is engaging in such grotesque imperialism is beyond me.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

short sided approach to the issue is that china needs america. america runs a massive trade deficit with china. china holds alot of the federal govt. debt. the dollar is the world reserve currency and a number of countries over the last decade have signaled theyd love to topple the dollar. simply put – conquest and colonization. in fact the chinese president has come out awhile back in a speech and signaled that china is over populated and lacks the resources to grow and suggested that america would be a great place for the chinese to overthrow and colonize....he went on to say they would work with the russians in taking over and dissecting parts of canada and america. this has nothing to do with his public war with trump. american media has actually spoken little of the speech. the chinese use capitalism to advance their dictatorship, power and control in the world.

China relies on the US just as much as the reverse is true. Why would they want to destroy the almost sole buyer of all their cheap manufactured goods? Their economy would collapse.

perfect. coronavirus. thats something beyond vagueness. and i do agree....i dont think we have any clue just how bad it could in america. in the 1930s the majority of americans were at least somewhat self sufficient food-wise and also knew how to do things for themselves. todays americans not only rely on just in time supermarkets but generally no longer know skills and trades to be at all self sufficient.

it was and is foolish for any country the size of america to have become so reliant on a country that would sooner overthrow us than help us.

For those of you that have been living the appliance inventory nightmare of the past 3 to 4 months you are already well aware of the crippling issues we are having at the store level. However, I would attribute our appliance inventory woes to Lowe's just not wanting to spend money in the 4th quarter so they can inflate their end of year numbers for the stockholders. Actually had one of our major appliance vendors tell me that there were reports of Lowe's actively canceling purchase orders in the 4th quarter.

I believe the prophesy that the original poster is making is that with China essentially in lock down due to the novel coronavirus that the impact on manufacturing/exports will soon have a ripple effect on the entire world. Take a look around any store, including Lowe's, and you will quickly see just how much of the whole goods we sell in this country originate from China. Then when you start to factor in all the essential Chinese manufactured components that go into larger finished goods (autos, appliances, etc) the supply chain world wide can easily become crippled. We are not there yet but if the novel coronavirus continues to spread across China at the rates we are seeing over the past few weeks the human and economic impact could be disastrous.

The current economic system we have deserves to fail. If you reward know nothing executives and leeching stockholders at the expense of your employees earning a living wage then your downfall can only be celebrated.

Tip of the iceberg. Mark my words.

What we will see economically will be a first in history. The affliction will still spread but the economic impact of this event will cripple even the most well run companies.

Work to live... dont live to work...

Already seeing abysmal quantities of refrigeration. Turns out just in time inventory is not all it's cracked up to be!
