I have been with Lowes for 16yrs. What a hell of a roller coaster ride! A lot of ups and downs. Not much I couldn’t handle until now... the scheduling takes the cake. I just can’t wrap my head around it. How can people’s lives and a business’s be ran by a computer? I’ve always took pride in my job and raising morale. I just can’t touch this! There is nothing I can say or do to help these people and it breaks my heart. Most are good, hard working, and dedicated people. All I can do now is watch it destroy lives, morale, and people’s health. They say it’s to put a red vests in front of customers, but it’s doing just the opposite. Good knowledgeable people are leaving. After call in’s and departments with no staff the rest of us are left running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Customers do not have the staff they deserve to get there projects done. Many are being ignored because we are knee deep in helping who we possibly can. I see more and more customers leave because we just can’t get to them. It’s not fair to them or us because we are getting cussed at as they leave out the door.. think of all that money Lowes is losing.. some of those could be whole house remodels.. that’s what pisses me off. Customers and staff deserve so much more!
I challenge corporate to get into the trenches with us. Then you will see the amount of money were losing (this includes turnover). We can only acknowledge so many before we can get to them.
Yes we are angry but look at the whole picture. I have been a DS for a majority of my time at Lowe’s. Scheduling is not rocket science. If you have 2 people it’s and open and a close. 3 people an open mid and close. Lunches covered and staff for customers. Now we’re lucky if have people scheduled at all. I’m seeing some days (Weekends) with two openers and nobody scheduled for the rest of the day. This is a recipe for disaster. Now we have other departments scrambling( and it’s just that) to cover all the unmanned departments. Hopefully they have some knowledge to mutter through. If your lucky you can get someone to cover your lunch. Not to mentioned pulling product down to fill empty holes on shelves (part of customer service) and making sure the departments are presentable. In reality they are not. This drives me crazy( I want my departments show room ready. Let’s not to mention the time it takes to calm down an angry customer because they had to wait forever to get the service they deserve. I'm not complaining this is reality.
On top of that we must speak to numbers, customer service scores, quarterly walks , spot-light trainings( wich are very insightful if you can get to them) ect. (which we should) but once again we need the staff to do all that. We’re treading water and it rough!
Most days ( i’m sure I'm speaking for the majority of the stores) we walk into freight on floor because we don’t have enough people at night to get it all done. Freight, IRP, IRP verifactions, (downstocking empty holes) safety walks, Internet pulls, code 50’s all takes time and is imperative that it's down correctly. Once again if we don't have people on the floor at all times it's a recipe for disaster. We do not have the proper customer service period and the staff is overworked. If the people are happy imagine what we can do for our customers who make it all happen.?
All were asking is that you hear us, were the ones that can make Lowe’s great! We want all party’s happy, healthy and profitable! It's a win win!
Can you hear us now?

lowes store 3168 in delaware is a real joke. the manager is a real piece of work. her expertise is treating employees badly.she will do anything to make herself look good . her own managers dislike her. her style is to rule by fear. the turnover rate is unbelievable. lowes is the worst place to work and this store ranks at the bottom of the list. long time employees leave and are replaced by disposable seasonable help.

Great management teams will lose their best employees because of computer scheduling. You need to be in touch with workers who deal with customers daily, face to face. Lowe's "boardroom management" is not helping customers or workers. There is a mass exodus of workers starting now, and it will only get larger.

Current experienced, full time employees are not recommending Lowes as a good career choice. Right now, Lowes can't fill the demand for seasonal workers, much less the ongoing search for full time/part time employees.

Lowes will not be able to point to their "I rose through the ranks" managers in the future, if it doesn't change its "numbers versus people" policy, soon

Thursday off, Friday on, Saturday off, Sunday on Monday off, Tuesday through Friday on. Then your manager asks what did you do on your "days" off. Comical. Ten hours one day and four on another. No one in department until 9, can't down stock, and then you're asked why the down stocking wasn't finished. I told manager it wasn't started. Six years without taking a sick day and have taken 3 this year due to dr's appts. Not a clue. As long as the financial genius at the top is making shareholders money he'll keep doing what every job creator does, look out for himself first. Also notice you have fewer full time workers and more part timers. For someone who is always talking about how much they support veterans, they're not supporting this one.

Last day of the financial year for the boys in blue if you think last year was bad wait until Mr. M.E. me me starts on 2020
So while we’re missing another weekend off due to this crazy rotation Marvin and his old HD buddies (Lowe’s leadership) are swanning around in Miami at the super bowl
A total waste of money and sponsorship dollars, still M.E knows something about a bowl as he’s flushed all his employees down the toilet bowl
Flag Marvin for interference

Circuit City should be a cautionary tale. They eliminated all the knowledgeable, well-paid employees and hired college kids and high school kids and part-timers and look at it now. Best Buy is still in business. I can see this happening at Lowe's. Looking at wages as a cost of doing business (even though Marvin said the employees are the company's biggest asset). Also, he said he does not hire his freinds but he has picked up several people at each stop he has made up the corporate ladder.

So there.

I use to work for Lowe's and a former worker told me that the website for employees "My Lowe's Life" is called that because when you work for Lowe's . . . "Lowe's is your Life". It's a horrible place to work, management doesn't care, they have their favorites and discriminate against people who have disabilities. Document everything that happens to you as far a discrimination, retaliation, harassment, especially if you are disabled. Corporate america s—s, they are big greed factories so the CEO can make million of $$ while they screw over the most important people in the company.
The grunt jobs of working in the store with the ugly customers complaining because of their stupidity and getting their panties in a wad. Thank goodness their are customers that love the associates that are professional and and "THANK" them every time for serving our country". Then I hear that other associated never say thank you to them. I'm talking about one job in particular at the front end of the store, the last people to see the customer. They are treated the worst.

My hubby is probably gonna quit over this, he does the work of four youngsters that don't drive anything, can't load anything, can't help customers cause they don't know anything, know where it is, and he's "frisky for asking for two dollars an hour more. Never mind people who have kids, would like to plan a vacation or anything else. This one has HUGE turnover written all over it. What corporate mo–n introduced this bean counters wet dream, and what newb manager approved it?

Kronos started making our schedules November 9th. As a specialist I've been told I have to work mid shifts. My schedule has me working 10 hour shifts 11-9 or 10 - 8 what is this b—s—! Can they get away with scheduling you 10 hour days? Do they think associate are going to be happy with six weekends off a year, ten hour days with no days off together and a mid shift that gives you no morning and no evening time to have a life. I'm not going to be able to relax or spend time with family. Eight years with Lowe's looks like it's time to take my Christmas vacation and start looking for a new job.

Lowes is a f—ing joke anymore! Yes they are about to lose good employees. Let’s see if the younger employees that like to party are going to work 2 month with out a weekend off...they like to party. Older employees that only get their kids or grand kids once a month aren’t going to work this sh–. I bet Marvin E doesn’t work 2 month in a row without seeing his loved ones. He can go straight to hell with Lowes. You end up working 3 or more departments because not enough employees. They work you to death now they want you to work this long with no weekends off. I heard they were trying to get rid of all full time employees Well I guess they found a way to do it! I hate Lowes. I will tell everyone I know about this and tell all the contractors I know to go elsewhere. I hope Lowes sinks!!!

They could never pull this c-ap at Corporate, they think they will get away with at stores, but at my store people are already looking/interviewing elsewhere. They've had it. One of our competitors will let you pick your sched and starts at $14+ and pays $3/hr extra for weekends. In our metropolitan area all the Lowes have had 20+ Open positions for months- can't get people to even apply. Customers are so frustrated by not having expertise(or even anyone) in areas, they just walk around and grab any red vest, and get mad when they can't answer specific product info. They don't want to hear that you will help by trying to find someone with the details they need. I've seen customers just drop their items and walk out when they get to front and line with only 1 cashier open(self checkout usually closed after 6pm). Revenue will be dropping, but hey expenses also with fewer on the store payroll.

Marvin Ellison and Joe McFarland ran JC Pennies to 4 BILLION dollars in debt.
Great job hiring them to ruin Lowe's.
Attention Joe McFarland if you want schedule your employees a military schedule... Why don't you go back to the military. You should lead with happy employees happy customers. You should have been terminated after your racial comment, no exceptions and 0 tolerance

Lowe's doesn't give a rats a-- about you. They put on a front like they do then screw you over whenever they can. Only collect a paycheck till you find better. So glad I don't deal with that c-ap any more. feel bad for the ones that do.

Supposedly the computer generates the schedules and no one can make changes. So does this mean when people call out, the store just does without help in departments? Lowe's is guaranteeing you have no life other than Lowe's and while at Lowe's you will be so tired that you can't even function. You shouldn't be using heavy equipment when working for 6 days in a row with one day off once much less repeatedly having such a horrible schedule. people will be calling out more often. people will be getting injured. They want to force the old people in Florida to quit from the schedule changes but the young people are more apt to quit when things do not go their way. It is not a coincidence they are rolling this out in a "right to work" state because that means companies can abuse employees all they want and won't get in trouble. What happened to the right of workers? If Lowe's wants to improve their reputation with investors and customers then they should start treating employees better. Don't you realize that the customers can see how poorly staffed Lowe's is and how tired the employees are already. They see employees with bandages from being injured at the store, etc. Customers notice and this makes them want to go to Home Depot. The more you abuse your workers, the more families of the workers want to shop elsewhere also. It is a downward spiral.

These are the facts as told me by my marker director. All schedules will now be spit out by Kronos. Full-timers are no longer guarantee 39 hours. You are only guaranteed 32 hours average throughout the entire year meaning you can work 40 hours one week and 24 t

he next. I have 25 years with Lowe's and I'm telling you people it's time to bail out!! Part-time employees can now be scheduled for 0 hours!

Every time I think my new job is getting stressful, I read the latest ways Lowe’s is killing morale.

Then I thank the lord I’m 7-4 m-F with weekends and holidays off. Sales can be stressful but I make commissions.

I remember my zone manager laughing at me when I told him I needed assistance with some heavy 300lbs closet organizers. Now I’m laughing on Friday nights, Saturday’s and Sunday’s off and almost double the paycheck.

I am all for having a God fearing man at the helm...if he/she really is. Sadly for all of us Marvin prays at the altar of D.E.Shaw and wall street. IF he is indeed a man of God i am certain he will be heading to the confessional on a pretty regular basis now

Face it. Lowe's has always s---ed, and each passing day s---ed more until now. The sooner you leave the better you'll be. Store 1192 is the worst ever. So glad I left that dump and the lying, unethical Store Manager there last year. So stress free now and my present bosses don't lie to me, manipulate, or scheme. Wow! Imagine that!

I stood up handed the SM my vest, said thank you and good luck and left.

This is just a f----un job and Bryan the chunky little SM is not going to speak to me in that manner at all. Bye Bye cra--ead White Marsh.
