Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Sick and tired of Cognizant's H1B scam

Seriously, the whole game is rigged, they bring in H1Bs, pay them peanuts and let knowledgeable workers go. I wander if it's possible to get Indian citizenship, so I can go on H1B and keep my job. The whole game is rigged, Pepsi knows it, Cognizant designed it and the politicians are supporting it because they are paid off by IBMs, Accentures and Cognizants of the world. Seriously, this is such a scam it's incredible that nobody is paying attention to this. It's not even discussed during the debates. Who will stop this scam and how?

I worked for Pepsi for 11 years. They took Pepsi over in Aug 2016. I had a stroke, I wasn't expected to live. I did and had to work hard , to learn so !much. 6 !months later, I was fired bc I couldn't give them a return to work date. They would not even work with me a while longer. I was fired by phone on a conference call. I reported them and now have lawyer. The stroke was bad enough, now fired from a job I loved and very good at all bc I had a stroke, and over a conference call, I live 10 minutes from Pepsi. I only wanted my job back.Cold ppl. Makes a person wonder how they sleep at night.being so heartless.

Sorry Indra BUT not ALL of your staff is crying after election results. What's troubling is how you refer to a sample of staff as representative of "ALL". True, those countless numbers of indian guest workers on H1B that make up most of IT "staff" should be concerned. BUT, what staff should be concerned about is not DT, but Ms. Nooyi. How long will it be until you push your own political agenda over those not considered to be part of your version of the all ? How long until we are replaced by your image of the all, the same all that was at times in focus during election ? The same all you seem to better associate with than you do the workers who helped build that company. Now we watch as your political viewpoints affect consumers. What's that ? Share price dropped another 3% ?

Quote from article. The decision should be clear for November

"At the same time companies are importing low wage workers on H-1B visas to take jobs from young college-trained Americans," said Trump - "You've been seeing that and you've been hearing that. We will protect these jobs for all Americans, believe me."

The H1B visa game is only rigged because of one of the requirements. The foreign workers have to stay with the same company that sponsored them to come over in the first place. The workers hands are completely tied so the employer can pay them peanuts. The purpose of H1B was to fill needed jobs. If they change the program to simply say they need to stay employed, then the problem goes away. The ones that are any good can compete in the marketplace with Americans and they'll end up with the same pay. The ones that are no good will end up going back to India. So companies would not save any money by hiring these people (assuming they want somebody that knows what they're doing) and it would serve it's purpose of filling voids. Of course, this won't happen because these fortune 50 companies have a lot of influence over such rules.

Not to mention their attitudes towards women! They are so demeaning towards us!

The entire tech worker shortage is a myth! There are plenty of hard working Americans who can do these jobs! Non citizen workers should not be brought in unless it's an emergency!

Of course it's a scam. H1B visas ARE a scam. Everybody knows companys want cheaper labor so why not hire some guy from India or China on a visa and pay him 1/3 to 1/2 less?

The worst part is they come here and start acting completely arrogantly thinking that they're 'the best'. I've heard them talk about how American's are idiots compared to them, and how they are here cause they are so superior. Management can't touch them or they'll be 'insensitive'. It's become a complete farce.

Get ready for things to get even worse in all departments, while the execs laugh themselves to the bank.
