Emerson is only shouting woke bc it’s customers are doing it too. Shell, Exxon all pretending to be woke just like Emerson is.
When the prior poster refers to "majority of Americans" was he/she including 51% of the population which are female or just assuming the 49% male population?

Some of the people that I see posting are truly out of touch with the real world and our customer base in the field. If you’re wondering why you can’t see this company has turned woke, it’s because you’re a snowflake. Yes that’s right, you’re so out of touch with our customers and the majority of Americans that you believe this political BS we’re seeing. I for one disagree with most of it that I see and to answer a few of these questions, I am not a middle aged “white” person. Hopefully you cry babies leave so this company can be great again, because this woke culture won’t bring success in the long run. If you don’t believe me, look at the “success” of other woke companies such as Netflix, Twatter & Disney. Do us all a favor and leave for some Silicon Valley tech company so we can start selling the best products in the world again instead of becoming a left wing bullhorn for propaganda and BS. We aren’t that important that our political views mean anything to the outside world, so how about we focus on what made us successful for the last 100 plus years.

So when the CEO decides to change the misogyny and s-xism it is called woke. To me this post sounds like a bunch disgruntled white men.
If I got anything out of this post it’s just how much s-xism, misogyny and ageism is ingrained within Emerson and the posters don’t even realize they are showing their #sses.
correct, why only middle-aged men? middle-aged women who served the company for long years are hit as well. cost reductions and stock exchange are the only reason.

Why do we keep referring to these actions as "woke". What do the posters here see wrong with improved diversity across the workforce as well as sustainability goals? If achieved, wouldn't it make the company a better place and attract young talent which is the primary goal in the first place?
I would add: and to keep the Board happy. The problem is this: how much talent is he willing to lose and how much damage to Emerson is he willing to take before he lightens up on the overly done “woke” message.

You act like the woke messages are real? Lal doesn’t believe this. Anybody that leaves because of wokeness is stupid. Lal is only doing this because he wants to satisfy wall st and millennial talent.
If you want to know the direction the company will go, watch who their PAC donates to. Does that line up with their stated goals?
Can’t say if their are political messages 😉. But if you don’t politically believe what the autocrat believes then you have no place in this company. This month has stirred much decent amongst employees and many are looking for greener pastures. Talent is and will continue to bleed out of the company. Hope “woke” replacements can relate with blue color customers.😂
