Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Laid Off? Don't despair!

If you were laid off, I highly recommend using the LHH resource provided to you ASAP. It's an incredible service which will keep you motivated and hopeful. I have actually started getting call backs for interviews!

I was fairly disappointed in being let go because I really liked my team (hated being at Schwab) but this was honestly the best thing that has ever happened for my career. So I guess, thank you Schwab for thinking that my numbers were inconvenient enough to be laid off. You did me and my career a huge favor.

Years ago Goldman bought a company I had worked at for 5 years or so. Best job I ever had. When they wound down the acquired company, except for a few folks who had accepted jobs in "the mothership" and relocated to NY, London, or Tokyo, everyone was laid off. LHH services were provided as part of our severance. I have to agree that they were top-notch. The role I accepted was a better one in many ways than the one I'd lost, and I did not get it thanks to LHH, but I suspect I would have had I stayed on the bench a bit longer. Good luck to my ex-coworkers affected by this WFR.
