So for you newer employees this practice started around the years 1995-2000 it has slowly but progressively gotten worse over the course of twenty years. And thru several different leadership teams. It is their intention to hire cheaper labor have less a workforce. Basically hot swapping items sent from outsourced repair centers to customers on a multitude of products.
You older generation should have listened to starting or getting into the union representation back in the 90s when this started. Yes back then we knew this was coming but not at this magnitude. That 10 dollars a week union due might have paid off. But then I heard anyone mentioning union would eventually disappear from the company, maybe that’s why.

NCR politics and groupism at extreme. CTO is IBM, VP's are IBM, they fired many directors and have hired their IBM buddies. Failed leadership couldn't deliver changes they promised, for last 2 years, and to show they are doing something, this game is played. Pretty sure, in a year or so, they will all go to some other company and damage it as well

“It is and was all about hiring cheaper labor.”

100%. NCR is trash, and I’m sure we will get bought and absorbed sooner or later. Might as well put that Cheetah sign back up, because I’ll need a lap dance before this is over.

To the person who wrote on September 6th and said is was performance related... I’m curious if you are still working at NCR or if your job has been eliminated? Unless you have gone thru the layoff process, you have no clue! It is and was all about hiring cheaper labor. Of course, they will start losing clients because you get what you pay for. Couldn’t happen to a better company. RIP NCR

NCR is going to have another layoff round in January. They will hire contractors and cheap labor. More American Jobs are going to be lost.

sorry ... I meant layoffs are NOT performance related but the goal was to let go tenured employees and replace them with lower cost resources.

NCR has a massive wave of NON - PERFORMANCE related layoffs on 11/10/2020. Employees who have worked for many years with dedication and ensuring the company success were given 5 minute "today is your last day" talk. Even though there were openings in the company, NO effort was made to let the people go to other teams. The goal is to hire entry level resources and use contractors and save millions. NOT a employee friendly company and very short sited and poor management overall. Join, if you have no other option.

NCR is laying off loyal and dedicated staff unrelated to performance - that is a known fact as communicated by their Human Resources department. NCR should really rethink their futire strategy by letting go of bad managers who treat their teams unwell and cause low moral and non-cohesive and uncollaborative teams. You want a successful company be good to your people. NCR does not treat or empower their people.

I will never work for a company like this again. They don't really care about employees, they only care about their bottom line and stock price. Tons of american jobs outsourced. Good hard working Americans who put in the work for many years to make this company successful just to be let go like they are lint on a shirt. NCR is not the American company it used to be, that is for certain, it is just a shell of itself. Just like HP.

The layoff s—ed because as an impacted ex-employee it had nothing to do with my performance. This cut was due to Walmart selling off a division I worked with, with that said the layoffs could have been due to some performance issues too, but NOT ALL.

I expect the layoffs will be centered in Atlanta a Dallas – the expensive employees are there, for the most part.

There were not thousands laid off - there were layoffs based on performance reviews and under-performing employees were let go. These employees were scheduled to be laid off right as the pandemic started but company decided to allow them to stay because of the number of people from other companies who were laid off. The company asked higher paid salaried employees to take a pay cut to allow the company to avoid layoffs at that time. These pay cuts have been reversed as of September 4th. This is a performance reduction and not lay offs

there will be layoffs. ncr is recruiting local electricians to service the atms. there will be no need for CE's to service them as electricians have the ability to repair them as easily as changing a ballast
