How worried are you about ranking? It seems to me that the message the COP has sent to employees so far in terms of ranking is that it is not worth the effort. I wish that wasn’t true, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if my ranking dropped, given that I work more than ever.

Generally people who worry about their ranking dropping is because they know it deserves to drop.
the relationship between your ranking and contribution are about as obvious as my relation to you (who are you?)...lol
As a manager (now retired), I was pressured often to give rankings to justify who we wanted to keep and who the company wanted to let go. And, salary and the ability to lower payroll costs played a big role. So, there were high performing employees whose ranking was lowered. While younger and cheaper employees were high graded even though their performance did not justify the ranking. It was not necessarily an objective look at performance. It was determining the end result and working the rankings backwards.
HR troll is downvoting as always. And he/she/it brought a friend this time. Good job trolly!
It’s all about that plus score. Ask your supervisor or TMT member and watch them squirm.
You’re ranked the day you’re hired/acquired. If you’re a hipot, you’ll get a 1 every year. Everyone else, 3 with the occasional 2 (once every 2 or 3 years) to make it seem legit.
Talk back/ask too many questions, you’re a 4.
Don’t worry about it at all. I feel we have zero control over it.
