Not that it will do any good, but does anyone know how we go public with the information on how employees are being treated? This is unacceptable. A company this size treating employees this way ? All we hear about is the magic of Macy's and what has happened over the last month is ANYTHING but Magic!! Tired of the company portraying itself as a caring, thoughtful company which is so far from the truth.

User UBbitches, I agree 100%!
Well stated!
And the DONKEY award goes to....... this person who post this question......u must have had to put up with it because of your big salary lol........get it...... your huge 100,000 salary you wish . Common you are working a retail job don't get mad ...not there fault you are stuck working a low wage job...donkey donkey
Loser alert......Loser alert.......they need to grow up. Why did you stay if it was horrible there...People talk sht. Business blows so they need to let people go......no business equals no money which means no need for employees. But people are shocked it is happening......helloooo it's all over all retail is cutting jobs.......
Wow! What a bunch of whiners! I’m a female, been with Macy’s 20 years, ALWAYS treated respectfully, fairly and well. It’s so interesting that when a company MUST do what is necessary to stay profitable and in business (they aren’t a non-profit you fools) and you may be affected, you all of the sudden, want to complain and b--ch.
Poor you, you lost your job, they have done amazing things every reduction event or store closing to place as many GOOD employees as possible. So grow up, be responsible for your behaviors and work ethics and stop blaming your employer! If it was as bad as you state, you have a choice to quit and find the ideal job you feel your sorry a-- deserves. Accept responsibility for you and stop blaming your employer or Macy’s. Grow up and become an adult instead of a whiny b--ch. (mic drop)
Regarding the #metoo issue at Macys.....and I am a former executive who left the company when my store closed last year.....over the decades, the majority of Macy's store employees have been women, many of whom have been single parents. The fact that our severance agreements have the language that if we say anything negative about the company they could sue us........this intimidation is the real problem. This is the real news story. That thousands of women, who have dealt with the #metoo issues, in the stores, for years, are unable to come forward, fearing the repercussions of the severance agreements. What would Macy's legal team in NY have to say about this? Maybe the media story is the existence of this website, and the information contained on this thread. Who wants to call their local TV station, or the NY Times?
It's all about the bottom line (company metrics) and HR ( missing). Macy's is not having a holistic approach of it's crisis ( retail, malls...) but also the people it employs. Maybe Macy's wants to go all self serve like the shoes department . Maybe it's the real unsaid long term goal, so caring about workers becomes irrelevant. MyHR is not helping: they act like robots and neglect your real issue, brushing it off. Great maybe for basic HR operations but real issues are not taken care of.
unless you get in on the #metoo wave that's sweeping the country. If we could find enough women, such as myself, that have been harassed by male managers and HR/AR did nothing about it after we filed complaints someone would pick up that story. Can't tell you how many promotions I've been passed up for simply because I'm looked upon as a "trouble employee" because I drew negative attention to a problem with a member of the boys club. Good thing I take excellent notes, names and dates over the last several years.
Be careful... If you take a severance and go public you can be sued! Better read that fine print before you go bashing Macys after you get that severance because you can be sued for SLANDER. Just a warning
What media outlet?
would love to learn more about this... (from media)
I sent an email tip to the NYtime tipline...probably nothing will happen but I'm hopeful.
The only way you will get attention is if you get a crew of it least a half a dozen workers ; then you need to call your major network in your area . Tell them you have Major story for them about Macys ! Once the news media hears that it is Macys they'll take the story . Macys finally needs to be exposed .The public needs to know how this multi billion dollar company treats employees that have been with the company for decades , The news media and the public will be a palled on how this multi billion dollar company treats their employees, Macys for once and all needs to be exposed and everybody needs to see what a dirty company this company is .Any company that treats and employee that works for them over 15 years like dirt should be exposed. Just tell your stories ladies !. Only positive things can come out of this . By the way this is the year of uncovering injustices .stop complaining just do it
try to spread the word, if you can - fb, twitter - journalists are reading stuff, just make sure you tag it properly so they can find it
we should all do this
also, posting here helps as most journalists come here to feel the pulse
So true

Contact your state labor relations board and document everything they do to see if they are violating any laws.then contact your local media confidentially.
Look at this mess .... we are telling people they no longer have a Job and then we turn around and say "oh,never mind!" We're telling Cosmetics Associates that were laid off to stay and help cover the Lancome gift. WTH?! HRMs Who are losing their jobs themselves have to handle all the other displaced Associates . This has been handled so poorly.
I think the best way would be to contact the media but who would be willing to do that? It's not just this layoff it's the disrespect with which some of the managers treat the associates, especially the older ones. We don't get our breaks half the time either. Someone needs to do something.
