Expect news in the next 2 weeks that the workplace flexibility pilot was deemed not to be sustainable and will it will be back to “normal office” routine starting Jan. 2023.

Watch the town hall recording, obvious the CLT does not support WFH and are frustrated they have to speak on it. They hate the fact they will be forced into maintaining some aspect of it.
An office! I have an office with a nice view. Who cares. We are all very impressed with your heroic and courageous achievement and devotion to a corporation. AP likes easy marks like you.
My dedication to CVE is why I have an office but @8ugn+1iFQlne3 does not !!
WFH while on vacation? You must be a single guy with two cats and a family who hates him.
Hey @5whn+1iFQlne3 I will be booking vacation this coming week but will work-from-home the whole time. I will watch to see when any of my four reports are not green for long absences. Bad for morale. Last year I send one fellow to Short-Term Disability because of his attitude. He has since quit. Cenovus doesn't need those sort of employees.
Agreed. If she left on her own accord, obviously it would not have happened immediately as it did, but more importantly there would be no statement released like that about direction. Crafting that fluff was probably part of her exit package (written by her or not.) We have seen this story play out before. Zero chance she left on her own and was packaged out.
Let’s be clear. The company is ‘mo--nic’ for tracking card swipes and data points during the summer to track employee compliance.
Tracking card swipes is a juvenile management idea that a warehouse union worker typically only deals with. Come on Alex!
Lol if you don’t take a summer vacation you have a problem and are in the minority. They are not tracking this despite what fear mongers want to think. That’s just mo--nic. To note, I take a vacation every quarter.
P.S. sure seems like VP HR was pushed. That’s life.
Why so many haters here? I'm still a Sr. Manager. Quite an accomplishment considering I'm Legacy Husky while all my underlings lost a position in title. I have four reports while my counterpart has much larger team. You all should be worshiping me.
No one who resigns is given two days to leave and I bet she wasn’t around for those two days. They wanted her out for some reason and we all know Alex’s talk of either your on board or in the way. She must have been in the way.
From what I heard, she did not "resign", and this was not a resignation. Deduce from that what you will.
It’s a bully culture here. I have a lot of respect for the VP of HR for resigning.
If you are not aligned with the values of an employer, then it’s an issue.
For Shame --> Taking your vacation in the summer when your children are out of school. You should be like me --> work long hours and go in on weekends. That is why I have an office when my counterpart is stuck in a cubicle.
Anyone else wonder if the VP of HR resigned because she didn’t agree with their stance on the working from home vs office and their future plans? That was a sudden two day don’t let that door hit you on the way out message.
I agree this is an issue. Now those employees who took vacation in the summer are on the next layoff list. They are accumulating the data I heard.
Only this HR org would be d-mb enough to give employees one year to use up carryover vacation, or lose it…and then start tracking card swipes in July & August when those same people are trying to use up their carryover. Then hand the data over to management and say employees aren’t following the WFH/WFO guidelines. You can’t make this stuff up!
Cubicle 5 days a week starting January
Fake news I bet.
Then it will be Quiet Quitting Time !!
They don’t trust us. That’s the message, clear and simple
I’ll be leaving then!!. Nothing special about Cenovus. They just want to be Suncor!
I think they know it would destroy morale if they did that. Saying that they still might anyways.
It’s easier to slack off in the office than it is at home. Just ask HR.
I for one will resign citing Work-Home Balance.
