Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

Famous Last Words

“The transformation of Ascension Technologies will better enable us to meet and exceed both our consumer and clinician expectations,” [Perry Papagoi Papuhaj] wrote in a blog post. “The scope of our transformation has required structural changes in how we get our work done. Through this process, some of our associates have transitioned to our providers while others have left our organization.”

That's right, they just up and left! So funny it made my Peloton chuckle, too!

How's that exceeding expectations going?

Tech M is in way over their heads. Ascension letting go of the entire Epic team a few months before an implementation has got to be the worst decision in life in all of history. Tech M can’t hire enough Epic-certified employees and meanwhile the list of fixes and billy errors grows exponentially. Those hired are overwhelmed and many have left a month later to take another remote consulting job. Something’s gotta give.

These words are so hollow now after many complaints about the lack of service. Senior Ascension leadership was deaf to what actually happens in facilities. One said the layoffs would have no impact because IT people only sit and look at servers! Sadly they still haven't learned anything...

Leadership didn't understand what the impacted roles did and made bad judgement calls. All but one person in my immediate team applied. HCL rejected the "vast majority" of us, gave insultingly low offers to others and decent offers to folks who were underpaid.

HCL went to the bottom of the barrel for our replacements. I wasn't sure if I should have felt insulted these people were supposed to do my job or if I should have felt bad for HCL/Ascension in assuming they could.

To many directors with little to no hands on experience won't be able to fix the mess. If a company shows no care or concern toward it's employees then why should employees care about the organization. And they wondered why they left or refuse to come back. Nevermind the d u m b a sses at HCl only kept a quarter of the previous staff who were overworked before and now are overwhelmed with the current situation and are bailing.
May GL and the rest rot.

Leadership didn't anticipate so many IT workers not transitioning to the outsource companies. Nor did the Western Rome anticipate groups like the Goths.

Is this why we're hiring more Servi e delivery directors? Yeah a master's degree is really gonna help with improving contractors ability to resolve incidents correctly. too many Kansas city chiefs!
