It is a tax bracket thing, just get over your self, they don't care what you type on here as an opinion. I do believe in freedom of speech, even if it is not correct grammar, so type away just don't expect anyone to take your advice.
Good day!
Wasn't sure if links are allowed here, so I'm putting this in a separate post, just to be safe:
https://www.sb360.com/select-projects/events/sears-list/
They also have 2 other stores on there, that are closing this Weekend, and will drop off soon. Then, the MD store will be the only 1 liquidating, until they end on January 15.
It's up on SB360's page now, if anyone is interested.
Wow, those 12 stores below, are so randomly located, in a disjointed fashion. I guess Miami and Palm Beach are kind of close together, and ditto for Stockton and Concord, CA. But other than that, there really seems no rhyme or reason to where they are located. Ditto for the Kmarts (except for the USVI locations which are close together).
The 12 remaining full-sized Sears stores that aren't closing (yet):
Concord, CA
Stockton, CA
Whittier, CA
Miami, FL
Orlando, FL
Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Braintree, MA
Jersey City, NJ
Greensboro, NC
Hato Rey (San Juan), PR
El Paso, TX
Tukwila, WA
There are also 5 remaining company-owned small-format Sears stores, and about 120 franchised Sears Hometown stores. (And 8 Kmarts.)
@2pra+1k9aaOjB Thanks. I Know they were hiring people for a remodel, so I'm not sure what exactly was remodeled. From what you're stating, they are still in the main building.
@2hys+1k9aaOjB Awesome. I contacted that newspaper (among other local media sources) last night, so we could generate an external "link" to this closing. Now we have it. Thanks for sharing.
Post The 12 Sears Stores Are Left
The closing is featured in the Frederick News Post! Sounds like that the going of business sale will move at an aggressive speed. The last day will be Sunday, January 15th! https://www.fredericknewspost.com/news/economy_and_business/real_estate_and_development/sears-at-fsk-mall-among-last-in-country-to-close-in-january/article_3e4c3096-2e1d-5f6e-bae4-13d4e37daa5a.html
@1udx+1k9aaOjB Various photos from the internets show the Miami store still in the main building, albeit now with no electric letters on the building (just a cheap banner) and various electronic shelf tags having been added around the store. Still no evidence they've moved to the garden shop.
@1uwj+1k9aaOjB Right, it's the same building. But didn't they shrink it down to a smaller size and divide the building so some other company took over half of it, or something? Or am I mistaken about that.
@1gkw+1k9aaOjB Excellent point, although Amazon still delivers to Bridgehampton, so I don't see that store lasting very long either. The thing that keeps the USVI/Guam stores going, is that (to my Knowledge), Amazon Prime isn't really a thing in those territories, and even if it exists, I don't believe they offer free shipping to VI, and Guam. So people there still need a B&M store, for better, or for worse. Not the case in NY, NJ, & FL. And Bridgehampton being an upper middle class (and above) area, I'm not sure that's really the key demographic for Kmart, but I could be wrong. They have survived somehow, this long. Maybe the yuppie Beach goers need a place to buy swimming goggles in Summers.
As for Puerto Rico, WM was ever-present there, so that pretty much marked the end of Kmart's usefulness on that island, thus the closures. Wouldn't surprise me if the Hato Rey PR, Sears, eventually closes too.
The Miami Kmart is still residing in it's original format (place in the building) so IDK what happened with that.
I meant, no nearby competition from Target or Walmart. Unfortunately I can't edit a post after I make it here.
Bridgehampton Kmart is in an area with no nearby competition from Target or Kmart. The other two, I can't explain.
Anyone Know why it's mostly been Sears closing lately, and hardly any Kmarts? Other than the PR Kmart, there haven't been many of those in a while. I understand that USVI/Guam stores probably won't close soon, because of the monopolies they have there.
But what exactly is stopping them from bopping out the NY, NJ, & FL Kmarts? In fact they just recently downsized Miami. I mean, why not at least get rid of the 3 stateside Kmarts? They are so disjointed, and weirdly located so far away from each other, so it cant be Cost effective to ship to them, right?
@1gwh+1k9aaOjB Thanks, I apologize, I missed that.
Assist the store team with liquidation sales and customer service.
I'm sorry, but where, on either of those links, does it show it's closing? I couldn't find that. Maybe they just need temporary help until Christmas. I'm not stating that it's not closing, Im also not stating that it is......just Saying that we don't Know either way, yet. Let's see a link where it shows definitively, that it's closing.
