Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

"The competency and employee attrition is biggest challenge. Unfortunately we can't change the corporate mandates."

Site manager quote. Syphoning off top salary and stock options while not representing the best interest of the site. #courageofconviction #fitforpurpose

DW and TG are wholly responsible for the impotence of every single executive in this space, and there is zero indication that it will change.

Stupid post. Site managers can’t change the corporate mandares any more than you can. You think a site manager can just change the ranking system for their site? Hardly. Your blame is misplaced.

TG is running the show from a people perspective. Darren is just there to look pretty and make semi-human comments from time to time.

The few execs that quit all say: “Wow, I got to this level and thought I would have authority and enablement to make change. But I don’t.”

Only rings half-true because I think there is still plenty they can change directly below them. But the big hitter policy items are still untouchable. Decisions made above them are still untouchable.

Kinda funny how we are asked to influence without authority, and we do it. Why can’t they?

That's when you realize that the senior leadership has no actual authority but get compensated as if they do.
