Once the old dependable and knowledgeable workers leave the Millie's can no longer take credit for work they did not do.They will be forced to put down their phones and work full days and full weeks to make rate.

Do not paint with a broad brush
Not everyone dials 911 at the first sign of trouble, they could be 20 or 60
Some will call for help while others will call to file an after action report.
Always be respectful.

Bad attitude starts at the top (Management)
If you don't understand why some of the older Folks are grumpy
Years of bad Management, they don’t mean to take it out on you.
Get to know them, Boeing is filled with way-cool people and Bad Management
With unrealistic expectation. New is exciting, it gets old
Management is taking their marching orders from accountants this gives
Management a Bad Attitude it all roles down hill

Boeing Is Not Boeing Now, that company is gone, Folks are grumpy.

Unity is required on both ends . From a new person‘s perspective, there are definitely some very helpful awesome boomers. The ones that are willing to pass down the tribal knowledge, are the best. The ones that don’t mind teaching you a thing or two.

But a vast majority of your work force that are at the end of their career, and perhaps have been put through c-ap, have a horrible attitude. The newer folks coming in with real world experience, I can see how their perception is jaded.

In the real world, most folks have diversity training. You can see that has skipped quite a bit in Boeing. I agree with the comment below, regarding not coming back to the retirement home. Majority of the people I work with are ready to retire. Your Boomers that have done your 25-30 years, definitely have a chip on your shoulders. And that is a toxic environment

I can see where a person who has had to struggle their whole life, finally get a break. Their perspective coming in with the amount of nepotism is very difficult. I had to fight to get in here. Half of these people were handed this job by their parents.

I don’t think it’s toxic. I think people have genuine feelings. But we are in a workplace and we do have to get along. So I’m sure a lot of stuff on here is venting. But most of us who have worked in the real world understand how to work in a professional environment. Venting is one thing. But when I’m at work , I work. I don’t vent. I like to keep busy at work. As most of us younger folks coming in do. We are full of ambition, and are ready to live out our careers.

As for the contracts, I have faith in a lot of the newer people I have worked with. Even the ones that got their job , because their parents work here.

And so far, anything I’ve had to go to the union about, has not been a bad experience. I feel protected enough to pay my dues that’s for sure.

When the new contract comes up, Boeing will give a BIG Bonus for those who are left to have a 16 year progression step to max out and strip away entitlement rights for the everybody gets a trophy generation.

I will delay my retirement so a younger worker gets laid off.

Hey look, it does not matter why it's not cohesive, gender, age, it does matter.

The whole purpose behind a union is to speak with one voice and BETTER the entire membership.

The fact is, the union has NEVER put its members in a better place than they were previously. No new benefits, minimal pay increases, it's horrible. The last time unions made a difference, Hoffa was on this side of the ground.

Those of us not in a union just sit back and eat our popcorn watching you get HOSED every contract. It's funny as hell from the outside looking in. The reason is not relevant.

"Younger and Cheeper" workers are favored by Boeing. But as with everything, things change.

It is amazing how shortsighted and no less selfish the younger workers are than the old.

Someday, the younger and cheaper workers will be older and paid significantly better. And Boeing will still favor Younger and Cheaper workers. I'm sure they won't have the same opinion at that time. They will move from "OK Boomer" to " Get off my lawn"

It's sad really

Right on qvt. They just see us as a means to their social security and easy lifestyles. They think they are irreplaceable but the truth is Boeing is more interested in the younger cheaper workers.

As a newer employee at Boeing. Old timers at this place are the most self entitled, laziest people I have ever met. Half of you don’t even wash your clothes or shower.Had it not been for Boeing keeping your a– employed for the last 30 years, because you basically just have to show up . Most of you would be on welfare or at McDonald’s, Had Boeing not kept your a– employed.

None of you id–ts know what it’s like in the real world. You have had your cushy job for most of your life. If this company runs into the ground it definitely is because you old-timers are id–ts.

I cannot believe I went to college when I could’ve just went to work at Boeing. I also can’t believe half the people I work with do not know how to spell, or correspond via email. It’s mind boggling, The level of incompetence, and the amount of pay you get.

Glad to be part of the gravy train. But don’t act like that’s not exactly what it is. It’s a total gravy train. And if you worked at this company for the last 30 years, you wouldn’t even last five minutes at McDonald’s for sh– sake.

And don’t get me started on the level of nepotism that goes on in this sh– . When your manager is fresh out of Starbucks and her mom and dad works here. You can clearly see the bull sh–.

I’m honestly surprised this company has lasted this long, with the level of incompetence, self entitled, lazy a– people that work here.

I for one would be very glad to see Boeing hand out a "Golden handshake". However, given the amount of money that Boeing has spilled in the last nine months is astronomical and don't think they have it. Getting the older more experienced out would be the best decision Boeing could make in recent history. It would boost morale amongst the younger rank and file and would ease layoff tension. Don't kid yourself layoffs are coming. This card game that Boeing and the FAA are playing with our jobs is B.S.
