Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Trump / H1B

He's taking a tough stance on H1Bs - wants to stop it. I've voted for democrats for 32 years and this is the first time I'll give my vote to a Republican... I am angry.

Don't give me that malarkey that its a Racial thing; again or there isn't anyone good skilled labors here either.

Being in IT I see them and they are NO better than our fellow Americans but I can tell you that they are different. They send money back to India and not feed our economy. So how does AMERICA BENEFIT??!!

Point of Fact: I worked along side an H1B guy and for the most part things were good. But when our economy was suffering and hitting low points years ago. He mentioned the following to me and I QUOTE:

"I was telling my wife that things are real bad here. If it continues we are just going to go back home"

Is he kidding; this is home for me and other like me. I almost punched him in the face.

This is the TRUTH behind H1B Visas and people coming and stealing money away from Americans

I would have asked Trump what he thought and how he stands to get them OUT of America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Trump really destroy H1B? If you believe so, you go lick his asshole.. He will enjoy your service and show you his middle finger when you ask him abt this promise once he becomes the president. Neither Trump nor his father nor his grandfather nor his great grandfather will be able to touch H1B. Its Benjamins game man.. the very same game you guys don't understand due to your racist thoughts. Enjoy the misery buttholes

Trump is f---ed up now with his own comments and never is he going to become a president. H1B is here to stay and will be there at least till 2030. By then, the white farts would have got into their 90s and become useless for the businesses. Think of it this way - On one side, you have a young, enthusiastic, hard-working person (H1B) working 12 hours a day for almost half the pay given to a white guy. On the other side, you have a fat old white fellow with very serious attitude issues and thinks as if he is holding the pillars of the company. He is expensive, is having attitude issues and hate towards everyone and takes day off for silly reasons like the poop of his dog was small on a particular day. Work from home for such farts is like work for home - home cleaning, AC repairs, taking dog to the vet, cleaning the garden, everything happens during the so called "WFH" hours. Which of these will you employ as a businessman? If you say you would employ the white guy just because of his skin color, I can very confidently say that you are in shit because of such unrealistic and greedy thoughts. Grow up and be realistic folks..

Well, what Trump wants is a step in the right direction. But I'd rather see the whole H1B program completely abolished. Here's what Trump wants:

Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program's lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.

Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement. In the year 2015, with 92 million Americans outside the workforce and incomes collapsing, we need to companies to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed. Petitions for workers should be mailed to the unemployment office, not USCIS.

I think there are more important things to worry about than "legal" h1b. Hahaha your banks and Wall street are stealing trillions from Americans. Climate change, pollution, Gun violence, blacks on welfare, mexican illegal immigrants committing crimes , Hispanic gangs in LA outnumbering black gangs, trigger happy cops, NSA spying, government lobbying, koch brothers, Monsanto. And you are worried about few thousand legal workers who pay taxes?

Lol. What about the Social security and Medicare taxes which H1b people pay for your sick and obese M'uricans? Will your government give it back to us?

Do you know how many indian workers without experience are smuggled in and faked the resume by infosys, tcs, wipro etc., these indian consulting company each year? And you know what, they can survive in US tech company because once middle to up level in those tech company are occupied by indians, they will hire more indians and they cover each others asses.

I am an Intel manager who has reluctantly hired an Asian (non-Indian) female into my group. She did not do well during interviews, but we need to hire diversity candidates. I did not want to hire another Indian into my group since they are already a majority. I passed up on other good candidates, but hey, those are the rules coming from the top.

Even if Trump were elected, he wouldn't do anything about H1Bs. Just like he can't fire the illegals working for him on his construction sites.

I agree..how come Trump is the ONLY one that is talking about this? Here are the INSTANT consequences::

  1. Higher wages You do know that H1B cover ALL areas of employments...preschool teachers to doctors - Minimum requirements is a bachelor OR equivalent EXPERIENCE.

  2. College grads - jobs for ALL LOCAL AMERICANS - whoa full employment

  3. Respect and dignity for being in high demand-

  4. Money that would STAY in the USA rather than shipped to India/China etc.

Abolish the H1B Visa program: http://www.petition2congress.com/7637/abolish-h1b-visa-program/view/ "This shameless and disgraceful corporate welfare must stop. There is NO shortage of skilled American workers. There IS a shortage of skilled American workers who will accept 40% less pay. The rich are rich enough. No American should have to lose his/her job just so the CEO can have more money. Enough is enough."
