Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox Needs to be Made an Example of...for the Sake of All Whose Jobs Have Been Outsourced

One of parents was a loyal Xerox employer for almost 40 years. Because of what I witnessed years ago in my own family, I now am a part of an anti-outsourcing group that has mobilized to expose the behaviour of certain U.S.-based employers in regards to U.S. workers. I would love to have the opportunity to talk to as many other workers as I can from Xerox whose jobs have been outsourced. Politicians need to get involved and all of your stories should be told to the public. Taking advantage of Federal programs (i.e. the HB-1 visa program that Xerox has received money from) only to continue cutting U.S. jobs is criminal behaviour in my opinion. Please let me if you or anyone you know is interested in communicating further. If you are already laid off, you have nothing to lose; you can only gain from exposing what is going on in order to prevent this from happening to others here and across the country who are employed by such greedy corporations. The general community has no idea how deep this actually goes. Only you can shed light on this, because you lived through it first hand.

I suggest someone needs to document the failures of the Board of Directors and Members of the Corporate Suite. One could start with Ursula Burns:

  1. How did she get to be CEO and Chairman anyway? She is truly poorly educated, has terrible elocution skills, and shows no inderstanding of technology or business.

  2. Xeroids know that Burns has a degree in ME, but NEVER used it. She was hired into a group that designed "caster wheels" for copiers. But she was booted out from engineering within 6 months and moved to "planning".

  3. Apparently the EEOP rules within Xerox were more responsible for her rise than anything else. When CEO Paul Allaire selected her for his admin, he made it clear Burns was the "first black woman" to hold the job. From that point on, Burns has always been connected with affirmative action awards, slogans, highlights, etc BUT NEVER with doing a good job of making money, creating high tech, or anything else useful. Google her name!

It would be fascinating to get the real story about this person. Why did Anne Mulcahey doom Xerox by selecting her as President back in the day?
