I don’t know about the rest of you, but there is no cleaning happening at all in our store. No social distancing at all. Not one person is taking it seriously including the managers. No one is covering their mouth, nobody’s washing their hands, managers roll their eyes whenever you ask what the plan is. I think even our third-party janitors stopped coming. This company is k–ling us. We are defenseless. They are not concerned for our safety and well-being at all, now or in the future. We were told that if we were that concerned about it ourselves that we could just get whatever we need out of the janitors closet. But there isn’t anything in the janitors closet! The customers cleaned us out of everything else. Associates are bringing stuff from home to clean! We were seriously talking about creating a class action lawsuit against Lowes for corporate irresponsibility and refusal to adhere to state and federal mandate. That’s if we make it through this. Marvin time to get your a— in the stores and see what’s going on. Show that you’re not afraid of the culture you and the rest of leader ship created. Show all your store managers that make jokes about this every day and have no concern for the rest of us, come shake their hands. I dare you.

The level of naïveté on this forum amazes me sometimes. Did you people really think that a third party janitor or cashiers standing around were going to be the only ones asked to clean in the stores ????
If you work in a store then why would you not be willing to help do the work of cleaning and sanitizing? That’s part of your job. IF you don’t believe me, go read your job description. The store manager basically has the authority to ask you to work in any area, and that could include helping clean and sanitize.
Lowe's isn't willing to close stores because Depot won't do it and thus they'll get our sales. Nevermind there won't be many sales to speak of anyway, gotta chase that bottom line like a racing dog after the carrot. The absolute inflexibility of this all is really shining a light on how broken our way of life is frankly.
At the very least we should be getting hazard pay. Instead it's just the unspoken threat of homelessness like always as the only motivation.
Employee are p-ss-d. Ive never seen so many so mad. Everyone wants to know why we can’t continue to serve the community and just be open less hours. No one of quality is coming in at night at all. They arent buying anything. We’re just the only building with the lights on.
Even if they were buying something, who gives a sh–. Are our lives worth it? Even hard-core Lowes employees are starting to whisper in anger and disgust. Loyal customers are calling the store asking us why the heck we are still open? That we should be with our families etc. Marvin is going to have another crisis on his hands soon if he doesn’t step up. When this ever calms down, he’ll be the most hated CEO in America because of what he DIDN’T do.
That's all that's on the news 24/7. Safe distancing, precautions, self care. But yet lowes wants you to get up all in everybody's face to make a sale. Declared an emergency, and these mo–ns want you to get all in everybody's face, touch everything.............just to get a sale.
I wonder if you can sue there asses if you get sick in a state of emergency as such from there stupidity?
I agree!! its all about money! Our store has been to damn busy to do any of the essential sanitation. 10 call outs per day, only self checkout running and the lines are down the aisles. We have already had maybe 10 associates take a LOA in the past 2 days. You are putting me and my family at risk!
Our store, here in New Mexico, isn't cleaned at all either. The restrooms are chronically out of soap and paper towels. I recently closed and two of the employees just sat in the break room for nearly an hour, getting paid for it, and didn't clean a thing, who could have been doing it. Policy NEVER seems to apply to those who are lazy and unproductive. Whenever these two employees are reported, for the umpteenth time, management just rolls their eyes and says, "Yeah, we know..." but NOTHING is done about it! They are allowed to just sit around, leave early whenever they want, as soon as any work is asked of them, near the end of their shift. They suddenly come down ill or will 'have a headache.' This has been going on for years now....One constantly comes in late nearly every shift, and management just looks the other way and makes everyone else work harder... these two will disappear when work needs to be done to go play on their phones, often doing it right in front of management, but nothing is ever said to them or done about it, except to the other (quality) employees already overworked that are told to do THEIR tasks. These two seem to have 'special' ties not only with our store management team, but even higher up, whom it has been reported to as well. If this chronically happens at our store, I can only assume that this likely goes on nationwide where the lazy and unproductive, with the worst work-ethic(s) are the most privileged, even in these times where cleanliness is an essential element people like this could be doing....but Lowe's and the managers don't care because all they ever tell me is, "Hey, there's nothing WE can do about it...."
I saw Belk shortened their store hours and have corporate employees working from home. Home Depot corporate employees are working from home too and Lowe’s isn't even keeping the stores clean... horrible!
I asked about the supplies to ensure our desk is sanitized and was shown a bucket, a sponge and a jug of purple Fabuloso. What a joke.
I see no extra cleaning happening at my store, in fact we don’t even have hot water.
They sweep the floors, flush the toilets, and mop the floors; there is no sanitation process going on, that is a myth.
We’re still being told to push credit in our morning huddles of 10 persons or more. Are you guys out of your minds?! PS i’m standing here typing this in our morning meeting because I don’t give a f-ck anymore. I’m also the only person standing 6 feet away from anybody else.
Lowrs is definitely contributing to the pandemic. We are successful in that we are helping to infect every person that walks in. so even if they don’t care about us, they definitely don’t care about the customers either. Take their money and then let them die right Marvin?
