Even if we got a raise, I would still think about leaving this place. People don't leave here just because of the pay, but because of many other things. Who still loves their job here? My impression is that almost no one wants to work here anymore.

They do use positive reinforcement, I will positively fire you if you don't do everything I say
Yes I remember the positive reinforcement thing. I wonder why they quit that. I remember the boss saw me doing some minor infraction and I told him I would do better next time and that was the end of it. It worked I never stepped on a rail again.
the he-l it isn't, these people try to scam minutes off my pay for fks sakes
NS had a positive reinforcement program about 6-7 years ago. It was supposed to revolutionize railroading. Sadly they fired all the supervisors who were any good at it.
They should manage by positive incentives instead of negative. Managing with negative incentives will only make someone do enough to not get fired and is horrible for moral. Managing with positive incentives makes work much more enjoyable. For example instead of writing people up for calling in sick, maybe try offering a monetary bonus for attendance. Small things like this make a huge difference and these are some of the things that make people hate working for NS. This is a tactic that other companies use to attract and keep talent. NS would benefit greatly from making changes along these lines.
