Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Keep quiet

Keep quiet and don’t ruffle feathers - like a good neighbor! That should be our motto. Every leader at every level knows bad stuff is happening but nobody has the leadership courage to stop it. Leaders know ILR folks are just being abused daily. No EOM, no huddles, can’t plan for time off, just sit there you POS and take calls and like it. Claim specialists are treated very similarly. You can’t take time off or any reasonable amount of time to plan a summer or holiday vacation. Sit there you POS and work while upper leadership and executive enjoy their well deserved time off. You know after being brought their food at work and paid hundreds of thousands a year or multiple millions. Yeah well deserved week or two week long vacations while those working 70 hours a week are given a day or two off here and there. Keep quiet and fall in line. The heartbeat of the company gets treated like absolute garbage but there isn’t a single SM or CM that will raise that issue up. Sure maybe a bit of feedback here or there but not the actual reality. It’s the same with other issues as well, State Farms a keep quiet or your career will be impacted company. Yet we claim to be a company that does noble work yet we aren’t noble enough to speak up for the less fortunate in our company because we’re too busy wiping the bacon grease off our double chins while we watch the peons average handle time and adherence and have the nerve to ask why they may sit in wrap for a few minutes. Well why do you take a 30 minute sh-t Mr. SM while you look at questionable material on your cell phone? The absolute irony and hypocrisy of this place is stunning.

So there are a lot of people in a lot of different industries that work holidays. Why exactly should you be excluded?

Since working here the last couple of years I haven’t been able to see family for holidays. I’m just the silent majority sending my applications to test the waters.

I know many jobs are like this, but I just cant get over that I have to tell my family that ill never see them on another holiday again. That just as a concept is horrific when you think about it.

There is a lot wrong with how the company treats its claim handers (core business). I still suspect that all of it is an effort to simply protect and grow executive bonuses at the expense of their core work force and core business. Most of the poor treatment is derived from purposely overloading the workers, while understaffing, all while maintaining a "theres the door if you dont like it" mentality.

Theyve obviously done the cost analysis on the price of having a revolving door of high turnover and the core business segments in a permanent state of crisis. Insurance was always a place people never wanted to work usually, without the toxic environment, and unhuman attitude. Now retail/food service jobs are creeping up on CA pay. CA departments unwilling to release good workers for promotion. CS hiring off the street then providing one of the worst training in the industry.

This is all going to get far worse before it starts to get better. Problem is executives do not see a problem with how things are going (metrics are good) and having one of the highest turnover rates of any american company (if im not mistaken 2019 SF was the highest in the country) doesnt seem to be any concern, beyond a periodic mass email stating they care. Mind you its progressively gotten worse over time too.

Basically its all a recipe to make sure people don't want to work in this industry, and those who do get in, leave as fast as possible. How is this good for anyone? Its been going on for like a decade too, what needs to happen for executives to notice/care? It shouldnt be the dream of every employee to get out of claims, you just cant sustain an insurance company when your core work force wants out.

Trust me. Those long timer systems and ET "Analyst" and "leaders" will all be taking their holiday and vacation and time off now and get huge bonus for nothing. All a big show.

They stack their PTO and don't use it and called staff employees. They should sit in Claims or Underwriting and do real work. Not delegate.

Not pat themselves on the back and get promotions for nothing.

Wasted resources and they don't work too hard. That's for sure. They need a taste of the real world of work. Cushy jobs. Paid way way too much. But act professional

hls+1ec8YghG I don’t think the OP thinks State Farm cares about their feelings, kind of the point of their post. Right?

For those speaking up about job postings in here. If you’re remote - you’re blacklisted so don’t apply. Prove me wrong - seriously someone please!

Amazing what happens when you lay off all your slack and there's no slack yet. This company is going to crash and burn with all the burnout.
