Thread regarding Alteryx layoffs

Layoffs announced in the US

Layoffs hitting hard this morning in the US. Seems Director-ish levels are being hit the hardest.

Anyone have insight on the severance and benefits package being offered to those impacted?

Very much on the edge of my seat as we await news either today/tomorrow.

Bad experience. So far no details about severance package. And we are told to sign by May 1st. It is almost 3pm.
It proved again the leadership team sucks.
So not bad thing for us to leave. Just spend time liking for job, at the end, we will find dinner or later

Seems like some people have yet to receive their severance info as of May 1? Is this true?

I have heard the severance is a "base" of two weeks + 1 additional week for every year with the company. This is not confirmed.

Also, it is not known what the status is with regard to unvested / soon-vesting RSUs, accrued vacation pay from before the "unlimited" policy went into effect, and so forth.

If indeed the policy is two weeks + 1 week per year worked, that is still very very weak and not even up to the standard of large, stingy companies like IBM and Cisco who making laying off people an art.

Nevermind, it appears to just be a final paycheck. Severance to follow presumably.

Received a direct deposit this morning that indicates 2 weeks of severance pay. I was only with the company for 6 months.

Would love to hear more details on severance and benefits for those who have been impacted, so I can compare notes with my situation.

Is anyone else who has been impacted unable to log into their ADP account? I have not been able to log in even after resetting the password, choosing former or current employer, and nothing has worked. This is ridiculous.

It’s such a lot of wastage in many parts of the company - real estate, low grade leadership getting huge pay checks, non value added functions in many geographies like digital customer success, value engineering , inefficient leadership , fat channels teams who just take credit without any contribution to business ! Sad that they let go off hardworking people instead if correcting business models and wrong hires

Non-impacted Alteryx employee. Sorry to hear of the layoffs this week. I’ve been here less than a year. I came from a company that did this several times a year unfortunately and saw a lot of great people lose their jobs. I was wondering if this was the norm at Alteryx. I was surprised that layoffs were announced, wasn’t the case at my previous employer, you’d start to hear rumblings about layoffs coming. I can’t tell you how many times this happened and everyone worrying if it was going to be you. It’s horrible living in fear. I’ve met so many smart, talented people during my time here. I’m rooting for you all to land better jobs.

Was laid off yesterday as well. Told that today would be our last day, but there has been no severance package presented and we have not had our final payout. There has also been no clarity as to how commissions will be paid for those that had deals close yesterday or today while they were still employed. As of now, it all seems very rushed and disorganized and it looks like it could be ripe for a class action.

A reminder, you ALWAYS have the right and should talk to an employment lawyer before signing any severance. The reason severance is provided is because they know they are at risk of legal action and it protects the company from the employee ever suing in the future. Employment lawyers will do this for FREE.

Non-impacted Alteryx employee here.

They may have laid people off by 1:1 meetings, but they immediately shut down peoples’ email and Teams access and completely cut them off. Didn’t allow people to send good-bye messages to colleagues. Brutal.

11% is 330 people total. A number of SVPs and VPs in the marketing, partner and product orgs were affected, and pretty much every team in Marketing across the company. Some sales people as well. Both longtime and short time employees, and many high performers.

It appears that managers were told from high above (at least in marketing) who they had to let go, and only a few high level folks had input into layoff decisions. It is also apparent that some individuals were let go in Marketing who were not well liked by marketing leadership.

The devil will be in the severance details. We shall see how generous and humane they are with severances. I am expecting a couple months will be all.

Alteryx leadership said on the Wall Street call Thursday that they expect most layoff incurred costs to be complete by the end of Q2, indicating pretty short severance packages for most folks.

Sad day for Alteryx, but a good day for the companies where many talented ex-Alteryx folks will be finding jobs in the coming months.

While a complete surprise to many employees, other folks knew this ax was coming and had prepared for it by already starting to interview outside the company. As was said, for those of us remaining, don’t let your guard down. Alteryx won’t take care of you, only you can do that.

As reported in results today, Alteryx is still growing significantly. Alteryx could have done more, much more, to weather the economic storm and take care of its employees, but chose instead a path of layoffs. Those of us who remain will not forget this any time soon.

Corporate leadership once again has proven that they talk a nice game, but in reality don’t even come close to walking the talk and doing the right thing by employees.

Total number impacted is 322, including me. Most were notified today 4/27. Remainder will be notified tomorrow. Official date of release is May 1. Company is doing it via 1:1 meetings which I respect much more than a bulk email approach. No details yet on severance package but I don't have high hopes. Just a sign of the times. Those of you still with the company (and rubbernecking here) should watch your backs. Nobody will be watching them for you.

I was part of the layoff today. No information on severance received yet. Anyone else told May 1 was official last day ( but told immediately let go today)?

They also totally decimated the partners a month ago by halving their annual subscription margin with 30 days notice. So everyone is suffering with partners now focusing on more profitable products. A perfect lesson in how to ruin your channel.

Pretty much every single team in the marketing organization has been hit with at least one layoff, some teams more than one. Couple of SVPs have been let go, but the bulk of layoffs have been at the manager / director / sr. director level.

An 11% layoff would put things at around 300 people across the company.

Was laid off back in January as well with only a month severance with 1/3 of the sales team. Heard there is going on a 11% RIF to Sales and Marketing currently happening today unfortunately again.

I was laid off in December and I was paid for the duration of the month I was working in, paid one months salary for every year I worked there, was given some services such as resume review, was eligible for my bonus as I worked over 11 months out of the year, and was paid out my PTO.
