Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Its Ranking time - how much will they lie this time?

Remember how the KO feedback forms were emailed word docs? And the form had you numerically rate the person you were giving feedback on?

Now, in CareerConnect, you can't even re-read the feedback you wrote! And nowhere are you asked to give a numerical rating.

Makes it so much easier for HR to rank people wherever they want - no paper trail and no numerical scores from knowledgeable others to contradict the ranking process. No way someone could provide auditable proof that HR rigged the system.

@1cnu+1lCZVqiu It’s 2 minutes. With an actual timer in many of the sessions.

Rank your team. Honor the distribution. Not so easy is it?

This now seems more rigged than the 2016 elections.

A lot of the blame for how bad the ranking system is belongs to the workforce at large. I've been a supervisor for a number of years and the majority of feedback provided is total garbage. Nothing of substance. Nothing meaningful. Nothing actionable. If you feel like your supervisor isn't giving you helpful feedback it is very likely your knowlegable others are providing total garbage nonsense. A large number of people don't even reply to the request. I have to hunt them down and ask them to fill it out. Many say things like I don't really know them well or can we do this over the phone. It isn't the career connect system that is the problem keeping you from getting meaningful feedback it is people who aren't willing to dedicate time to providing thoughtful feedback.

Only time KO matters is when it’s negative so Lazy sls has the goods and can act like they know everything about you

You can see what you previously submitted by going to CareerConnect - Forms - All Forms. It just takes a bit of clicking around.

KO feedback isn’t taken seriously anymore because people stack their decks and use friends instead of peers or customers. Not to mention, no one gives real, constructive feedback anymore for fear of retaliation.

Think of KO feedback as more of a place for supervisors to pull what positive (or negative) comments will help their case. This gives them “real quotes” for their 2 minute schpeel.

@kxe+1lCZVqiu - incorrect. It was the old 5 box ranking that you ticked on the KO form... Meets, exceeds, below requirements and so on.

You can bet it will be ugly in Annandale, and yes management will lie. KO hasn’t meant anything here for years, just a futile exercise. If your RE you will be a target. So many have left this site, the pool has shrunk, reduction here will help the corporation goal of 50k. Have a back up plan.Blindside coming.

Troll! There was never a numeric rating in the KO.

Where have you been all these years, KO feedback don't matter at all. What only matters is your few words of headline that your boss announce for you to the rankers. Oh I almost forgot to mention, what really matters is whether or not you have a sponsor. If you are untouchable, good for you.
