Manager here - this was the first Focal that nobody gave a damn about diversity. In fact, in the teams I am aware of, the majority of people who got fired were women.

URM's are the most safe, but anybody can get tossed out.
Let's see what the focal guidelines are this year. Anything funny should stand out, you'd think.
I don't recall anyone making the distinction, but (1) Females are actually an UNDERrepresneted MAJority, (2) Indian and Chinese employees are an OVERrepresented MINority, and white males are a MAJority that are probably now numerically representative (post all the ACT losses). It's more complex than simply URM and non-URM. Personally I think they should get rid of all the labels and stop all discrimination -- including the institutional discrimination now being undertaken by Intel under the guise of "outreach". People are people, but as long as Intel is consuming cycles on this stuff instead of prioritizing efforts to make profit all of the survivors are at risk -- regardless of how Intel labels them.
Jessie Jackson has their backs.
URM here, got laid off
URMs got laid off this year (esp. technical females). It's just less likely, but can and has happened.
Nobody is safe with the stupid HR criteria being used for ISPs and VSPs.
