Fungible Employee

Leaderlesship now calls employees fungible when planning next round of layoffs in late March and April. We are considered easy to replace commodity. Nielsen is almost dead so we have bottom feeder management in place.

meanwhile

In Belgium they're firing almost half of a team (7 out of 18), it is confirmed. I'm part of that team. So we know that in 30 days (mandatory for a collective redundancy) half of us will be out. Nothing wrong with it, it is dead end job anyway. But... — read more

Many have asked about severance benefits. It’s pretty straightforward and simple. With the exception to 401k whatever you had set up on your last day of employment is what you’ll have through the end of your deference. My personal situation. I had... — read more

Question for the next town hall

The next time they have a town hall— Someone should ask why the company is giving millions of dollars to that thug Habib as a consultant. He and other former Nielsen executives are calling the shots on these layoffs if you can believe it. I didn’t... — read more

Has any townhall ever produced anything useful?

Did we ever get a proper answer to any of the questions that are of interest to us as employees? I'd honestly like to know if there was ever a time when these things were useful because as things stand now, they're nothing but a complete waste of... — read more

Severance Advice (I’m not a lawyer)

Posting for those that were in the U.S. and laid off on 1/11/23. If you are in the U.S. and was laid off another day I’m not saying it doesn’t apply to you but I’m specifically speaking to those that laid off on this day. More than likely your last... — read more

Greater pressure on those who are not impacted

More pressure is already being felt by those who are not impacted. Are you noticing that too? I am preparing for the manager to start adding more to my plate, although realistically I don't see how people can agree to be even more busy and... — read more

Business Update 1/25/23

Soo, we’re starting the meeting off with the foot on the GAS LIGHTING pedal!!! Mass layoffs have taken place and NOT one mention or additional insight provided!

It's not easy to get used to this feeling

I was laid off in the latest round. I'm still in shock, after spending most of my career at Nielsen. If you were let go from here or any other company, how did you manage to keep yourself focused on your job search and not completely fall apart? I... — read more

There's no way the layoff is over

Hollywood Office Closing 1/31/23

The Hollywood Office is closing on January 31st, 2023. I guess they needed a cash bump to cover David Kenny's salary increase after going private, am I right, or am I right, or am I right? Too bad for me and you! If I was an elite (not some... — read more

Older people let go.

From what I can see it seems that mostly older folks were let go from Nielsen in this round of layoffs. Comment if you were let go an younger than 45. Seems older people were targeted.
